Here's our list of the 9 best League 2 players you should sign for your team in FM22.

For anyone trying to build a team on Football Manager 2022, the old adage is true: you are only as good as your worst player. Trying to find the best players to bring in to bulk up your team? Then check this list out. In here, we will break down some of the best players you could look for at League Two level. This should help you to build a squad of reliable journeymen who can score, create, and defend at this level.

If you want to build a solid fourth-tier team, consider the following names.

Jordan Boon – CB

FM22 Jordan Boon

A left-footed centre-half who can play left-back and is only 20? Jordan Boon is a must-hire for any League Two side. He has the potential to play at a higher level, too, and could be a great choice for just about anyone looking for something a little bit different.

Boon is a good player who has found himself in a bit of a tough spot in his career. If you can offer him enough of an ambitious plan, he could be ideal for building around moving forward.

Paul Caddis – FB

FM22 Paul Caddis

Having played most of his football in the Championship and League One, Paul Caddis would be a total steal for a League Two team. He might be 32 now, but he has excellent physical attributes and should age like a fine wine.

Though you won't be relying on him for ambitious overlaps, Caddis brings a steel to the team that is very easy to love. A great signing for just about any team at this particular level, and could probably still handle it at League One.

Niall Keown – FB

FM22 Niall Keown

A solid Irish full-back at a good age, you could trust that Niall Keown has the smarts to play at League Two level at least. At 26, he also has enough years left to get a little better, so stick him in the right system, and you could soon see him flourish.

He isn't the most ambitious or all-around full-back, but if you just want a steady hand who you can rely upon to get things done, then you should find a friend in Keown. Definitely, a player to think about adding to your line-up.

Cuco Martina – FB

FM22 Cuco Martina

A solid full-back who has played for teams like Southampton and Everton, you are probably limited to the best fourth-tier teams to land this player. Still, he would make a good choice purely because he has so much experience and a fair amount of pace about him.

Even at this level his concentration can be a concern, but if you are a more ball-dominant team at this level then Martina could make a pretty wise addition to your squad.

Melvin Sitti – CM

FM22 Melvin Sitti

Aged only 21, you should have no problem convincing this young Frenchman to give you a season or so of his time. He is a bit of an all-arounder with some good general attributes and a vision for getting forward. In the fourth tier, he should be able to find the space he needs to make sure he can play in the gaps that fourth tier defences so often leave.

A fine player and definitely one who you could rely upon to build around as part of a younger midfield.

Umaro Balde – DM

FM22 Umaro Balde

If you fancy taking a punt on a young midfielder, then look at Umaro Balde. The youngster has some great attributes and could easily play at League Two level providing you can cover for his inexperience with another good player next to him. A solid choice for most teams who are looking to add a young player as opposed to an older heat. Definitely one to think about, though, if you want a player who could play at a higher level with enough coaching.

Nick Blackman – LW/RW

FM22 Nick Blackman

At 31 you might get too many more years out of Nick, but he is a good veteran at this level who can score and create goals. He should offer you something reliable in terms of output, though at his age you should expect a decline and some injury proneness to start popping up.

For a League Two team on a budget, though, Blackman is very much worth considering to add to your line-up.

Anthony Stokes – CF

FM22 Anthony Stokes

While Stokes has a bit of an odd history with discipline, he would easily score goals in League Two in the right setup. Though not a true striker, Stokes would make a good choice to line-up in your team as a second striker or in a pairing. He is a good, talented player and if you can get him focused again he should be a good option for a year or two.

An experienced international, Stokes is definitely one who could help fire you to a League Two promotion given time to settle in.

Jerome Sinclair – ST

FM22 Jerome Sinclair

If you are looking for a player who can fill out both on the wings and up front, then 24-year-old former Liverpool starlet Jerome Sinclair is worth looking into. Though his career has not blossomed as it was supposed to, he could make a wise choice for anyone looking for a younger striker with a bit of potential about him.

If you can get his head focused on the game and you can find a role in your team that he should be able to mix into, then Sinclair is a must-consider.
