About FM Blog
Your Football Manager home since 2009 - tips, tactics, tools and a community that keeps the save going.
Who we are
We are a small team of Football Manager die-hards who started writing in 2009. The idea was simple - share practical advice that helps you enjoy your saves more. No fluff. No gatekeeping. Just helpful guides, tested tactics and tools we actually use.
FM is more than a game. It is scouting, squad-building, culture and the tiny tweaks that turn a decent side into a ruthless one. That is the space we live in.
What you will find
- Tactics - clear setups, what they do, when to switch
- Skins - clean UI packs with install tips
- Guides - training, recruitment, data usage, youth
- Tools - squad rules helper, hardware checker and more
- Opinion - thoughtful takes on new versions and features
Our roadmap
1995/96 - Hooked on CM 95/96
Hooked since the days of Championship Manager 95/96 - the gateway drug.
2004 - Started with FM 2005
The series changed name - our obsession did not.
2009 - FM Blog goes live
We started the blog in 2009 - friends with saves, spreadsheets and too many ideas.
2010s - Growing with the community
From tactics and team guides to our first tools and graphics.
Today - Still here, still learning
Iterating with every FM release and sharing what works.
How we work
- Test first - we try things across multiple saves and contexts
- Explain simply - fewer buzzwords, more why and when
- Credit creators - we link original work and keep attributions
- Community first - comments and feedback shape updates
Giving back
We believe in using our platform for good. We support two charities doing important work and we pledge a portion of each eligible sale on our site - ebooks, subscriptions or games - to them.
War Child
Protects and supports children affected by conflict with education and essential services.
Kick It Out
Tackles discrimination and promotes equality in football through education and advocacy.
If you can, donate directly via their sites or help us spread the word.
Writers, tactic makers, tool builders - we are always open to good ideas.
