Install guide (6 quick steps)

Step-by-step

1. Close Football Manager 2026.
2. Optionally back up any files you delete/replace.
3. Delete everything in lnc/all for each 26xx database you use (see paths below).
4. Copy the Real Names Fix .lnc files to lnc/all.
5. Remove licence files in dbc/permanent (e.g., brazil_kits.dbc, forbidden names.dbc, and Licensing2*.dbc in your language folder).
6. Then in-game open Preferences → Graphics → Clear cache → Reload skin.

Heads-up — each official update creates a new 26xx folder. Re-apply the fix after every update because the game restores licensing files.

Tips

If lnc/all doesn’t exist, create the folders manually. Copy the fix into every 26xx folder you plan to use for new saves.

Do I need a new save?

Not strictly — many changes appear after Clear cache + Reload skin. For the most complete result, start a new save.

Brazil & Germany still look wrong

Make sure you removed the specified files in dbc/permanent (Brazil/licensing) and cleared the cache. Germany usually refreshes once a match squad is selected.

Epic / Game Pass installs

Paths are the same under football manager 2026/data/database/db; only the root differs from Steam.

Do I need to redo this after each patch?

Yes. Every update creates a new 26xx folder, so repeat the steps.
