Official FM27 system requirements for PC and Mac, including minimum and recommended specs.
Football Manager 27 system requirements are now listed on Steam, with a higher minimum memory requirement than FM26. You will need at least 6 GB of RAM, up from 4 GB, while the Windows minimum graphics-memory specification rises from 512 MiB to 1 GiB.
The listed CPU and GPU models remain unchanged. Recommended RAM stays at 12 GB, and both the minimum and recommended specifications require 20 GB of free storage. For existing FM players, the clearest changes are at the lower end of the requirements.
Below are the current Windows and Mac specifications from the official FM27 Steam page, followed by the differences from FM26 and what to check on your own computer.

FM27 PC System Requirements
Steam specifies a 64-bit processor and operating system. Desktop and laptop components are listed separately, so check the exact model rather than relying on a general label such as Core i5 or GeForce GTX.

The VRAM figure is only one part of the graphics requirement. Having 2 GiB of graphics memory does not automatically make an older card equivalent to an RTX 2060. Compare the GPU model as well as its memory.
FM27 Mac System Requirements
Steam currently lists the following Mac specifications. Apple M1 appears in both tiers, with different RAM and macOS requirements.

For older Intel Macs, check the supported macOS version as well as the processor and graphics. Appearing in one hardware row does not establish that a particular Mac meets every requirement.
FM27 vs FM26: What Has Changed?
Comparing the current FM26 Steam requirements with FM27 reveals these differences:

Minimum RAM has increased by 50%, and the Windows minimum VRAM figure has doubled. The named Windows processors and graphics cards are the same in both games’ corresponding tiers. FM27 also explicitly lists 2 GiB of VRAM in its recommended Windows requirements.
Those similarities are useful for checking compatibility, but they do not establish that FM27 will run at the same speed as FM26. The listings provide no comparable frame-rate or save-processing benchmarks.
Can You Run FM27 With 8 GB of RAM?
8 GB clears the listed minimum RAM requirement, but falls below the 12 GB recommendation. You still need to meet the operating-system, processor and graphics requirements.
Do not read the minimum specification as a promise that every database size, league setup or graphics setting will perform comfortably. Steam does not attach a supported league count, resolution or frame-rate target to these tiers.
Does FM27 Need a Dedicated Graphics Card?
The Windows minimum list includes Intel HD 530 integrated graphics, so a dedicated card is not mandatory according to the current specification. That does not mean every laptop with Intel graphics qualifies. The exact graphics chip and its supported features still matter.
System RAM and VRAM are different measurements. Integrated graphics can share system memory, which is another reason to avoid judging compatibility from a single memory number.
How Much Storage Does FM27 Need?
The current requirement is 20 GB of available space on Windows and Mac. Neither tier explicitly requires an SSD.
Keep additional space for your own save files and any facepacks, logopacks or other graphics you install. The base-game storage figure is not an allowance for a large collection of optional downloads.
What Should You Check Before Upgrading?
Start by matching your exact processor, graphics chip, RAM and operating system against the tables. A computer that comfortably exceeds the listed specifications has a different decision to make from one sitting at the old 4 GB RAM minimum.
If your current machine meets the requirements, these tables alone are not a reason to buy a replacement. Wait for measured FM27 performance on comparable hardware before spending money specifically to improve match frame rates or processing times.
