How to Install Graphics and the Real Name Fix in FM26

FM26 handles custom graphics a little differently. The in-game UI no longer shows tiny folder icons - only full-size images appear. Also, you do not need to Clear cache or Reload skin in Preferences anymore. Just place the graphics into the correct folders and restart the game - FM26 will load them automatically. The Real Name Fix sits in a different location to your user graphics and requires a game restart for changes to take effect.

Tip - if the 'graphics' folder does not exist, create it. Do not double-nest packs inside extra subfolders.

Quick steps

  1. Download the facepack archive and extract it.
  2. Move the extracted folder to your User Data Location:
    • Windows: C:\Users\<your username>\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2026\graphics\
    • macOS: Users/<your mac username>/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2026/graphics/
  3. Launch or restart FM26. Faces will appear automatically.

Folder tips: Put the folder directly inside graphics - for example graphics/faces or graphics/fm26/faces. Avoid double nesting like graphics/faces/faces.

Install the FM26 Real Name Fix

Install the FM26 Real Name Fix

This fix uses the game database path - different from your User Data Location. You must restart FM26 after making these changes.

Step-by-step

  1. Quit FM26 if it is open.
  2. Extract our Real Name Fix to a temporary folder.
  3. Find the 2600 database folder:
    • Windows - Steam: Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 26\shared\data\database\db\2600\
    • Windows - Epic Games: Program Files\Epic Games\FootballManager26\shared\data\database\db\2600\
    • macOS - Steam: /Users/<username>/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 26/fm.app/Contents/PlugIns/game_plugin.bundle/Contents/Resources/shared/data/database/db/2600/
    • macOS - Epic Games: /Users/Shared/Epic Games/FootballManager26/fm.app/Contents/PlugIns/game_plugin.bundle/Contents/Resources/shared/data/database/db/2600/
    • Linux - Steam Proton: ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 26/data/database/db/2600/
  4. Open lnc then all and delete these 12 files:
    • ac milan (wom).lnc
    • acc Inter unlic 26.lnc
    • acmilan unlic 26.lnc
    • fake.lnc
    • inter (wom).lnc
    • inter unlic 26.lnc
    • japanese names.lnc
    • lazio (wom).lnc
    • lic_dan_swe_fra.lnc
    • licensing club name_fm26.lnc
    • men lazio.lnc
    • men.atalanta.lnc
  5. Copy our fix into lnc/all:
    • Choose one: FM Blog Real Name Fix - Sponsors.lnc or FM Blog Real Name Fix - No Sponsors.lnc. Do not use both.
  6. Go back to edt → open permanent → delete fake.edt.
  7. Go back to dbc → open permanent → delete these 12 files:
    • 1_japan_removed_clubs.dbc
    • brazil_kits.dbc
    • england.dbc
    • forbidden names.dbc
    • france.dbc
    • japan_fake.dbc
    • japan_unlicensed_random_names.dbc
    • j league non player.dbc
    • licensing_post_data_lock.dbc
    • licensing2.dbc
    • licensing26.dbc
    • netherlands.dbc
  8. In the same dbc folder, open language and delete:
    • Licensing2.dbc
    • Licensing2_chn.dbc
  9. Restart FM26 and enjoy real names. For the cleanest result start a new save.
