Looking for a new team to try out in FM22? Then we have broken down a list of the thirty-three best clubs to manage in Football Manager 2022. To help you find the best games to enjoy and the most gratifying experiences, be sure to try some – or all – of these clubs. Each stand at various points in the football pantheon, offering different experiences and ideas from one another. In this article, we will look at managing Norwich City today.

What is Norwich City’s history?

Norwich FM22

If you want to manage a club that is the modern example of well-run, then start out with Norwich City. The Canaries are a rare breed; a club who gets promoted and does not go crazy with big signings. However, success in this part of the world is relative; they have won the League Cup twice in terms of trophies, but have never won anything else. They did, though, come third in 1993 in the Premier League.

In terms of history, you are not going to be weighed down by it at a club like this. What you will do, though, is look to build a club that can eventually stay in the top-flight.

What is Norwich City’s objectives and finances?

Your main objective in season one is to keep up, but you might even keep your job if you go down with a fight. The main aim is to build a team that can stay in the league, though, so you should definitely look to build a team with survival in mind. The club tends to take a more carefree approach to results, more focusing on things like finance and player development. That is somewhat reflected in FM22.

Your job, then, is to use the minor finances the club has relative to the rest of the big players. Keep your best talent, sell them on at their peak, and use that to rebuild the squad. As a smaller club, you cannot really hold on to your best talent, so fattening them up ahead of sales is probably your best bet.

Who are the best players at Norwich City?

Max Aarons FM22

Your key talents after the summer exodus, fresh from winning the English Championship, are going to include on-loan Chelsea star Billy Gilmour and Todd Cantwell. The problem you might face is that you have some pretty average goalkeepers, and most of your good defenders are more attack-minded full-backs like Max Aaron and Sam Byram.

Teemu Pukki

So, try and focus on bringing in players who can handle a fight. In Teemu Pukki and Josh Sargent, you have two decent enough forwards, and in Milot Rashica and Cristos Tzolis you have two intriguing young wingers. However, given your defensive ‘stars’ include Grant Hanley, a second-tier stalwart, you should probably look to invest no defensive players.

You have enough goals in the team to frighten even the best clubs, but your Championship-level defence probably needs a bit of extra quality. This is where your funds should be spent, though you will not have much to throw around at The Canaries.
