About AS Roma
AS Roma are a professional football club that ply their trade in the Serie A. They are the biggest team from the capital city of Rome and have spent all but one year in the top flight of Italian football since their inception. Roma was initially founded to rival the Northern Italian clubs which were totally dominant in Italian football.
Roma have won the Italian league 3 times, most recently in 2000-2001, 9 Coppa Italia’s and 2 Supercoppa Italiana titles. Roma have also been runners up in Europe twice including the 1990-1991 Uefa cup. No less than 15 players have won the football world cup while representing Roma and they are considered the biggest club out of the capital city.
Roma play their home games at Stadio Olimpico since 1953 which they share with their fierce derby rivals, Lazio. It is the 2nd largest domestic stadium in Italy and has hosted some of the most memorable games in Italian football. On August 6th 2020, Roma was successfully taken over by the Friedkin group who have promised to help improve Roma's fight for titles once again.
Roma are without a league title for 21 years despite regularly competing for European spots. Roma finished a disappointing 7th in the 2020-2021 season. The board requirements once you take over will be;
· Make the top 4 of the Serie A (Automatic UCL qualification)
· Make the final of the Italian Cup/Coppa Italia.
· Reach the final of the Europa League
Additionally, you will be required to sign young players for the future and to develop young players using the club’s youth system.
Roma have excellent training facilities and a very good youth system that will churn out the occasional potential star player. You can rely on this to make the club achieve their targets and to rebuild a strong squad with the club.
