This article will list talented players who deserve a significant upgrade when Football Manager 2023 goes public on November 8th. These players have had breakout seasons in 2022 and should see their attributes improved on FM23.

1. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

The Georgian Maradona has been lighting up Serie A and the Champions League for Napoli over the last twelve months. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is blessed with exceptional pace and a fantastic technique. In the season's early stages, Kvaratskhelia hugely shone in a 4-1 demolition of Liverpool. The Georgian' style has been likened to his countryman Georgi Kinkladze. Now, like Kinkladze, he is being linked with a move to Manchester City. Sign him quickly, for it seems he won't be at Napoli for much longer.

2. Aleksandar Mitrovic

The last time Fulham played in the Premier League, Aleksander Mitrovic was written off by the British press as not being able to cut it in the top tier. Last year, in Fulham's promotion campaign, Mitrovic scored a truly incredible 43 goals in the Championship. Since returning to the Premier League, the Serbian forward has picked up where he left off in the Championship by continuing to score goals. His strength, combined with his excellent finishing, have made Mitrovic a real handful in the Premier League this time around. Mitrovic is fully deserving of an attribute raise on Football Manager 2023.

3. Cody Gakpo

PSV winger Cody Gakpo had a breakout season last year, scoring 21 goals in all competitions, including scoring the winner in the cup final against Ajax. His performances have led him to being linked to moves to teams like Arsenal and Real Madrid. Gakpo revealed that he spoke to Erik Ten Haag in the summer and came close to joining Manchester United. Gakpo is a tall winger who idolised Thierry Henry as a kid. He said that he had been trying to learn from the French legend "I've been studying the way he cut in from the left, shooting with the right". Gakpo won't be at PSV for much longer, especially if he can emulate his hero.

4. Martin Terrier

Stade Rennais' striker Martin Terrier had a superb season in 2021/22, scoring 21 league goals. Terrier's form led to Stade Rennais finishing fourth in the league, just missing out on the Champions League by three points. The Frenchman has started this season in equally impressive form. Terrier can play on the left or through the centre. His finishing, pace, and ability to cut in from the left wing make him an excellent inside forward. Maybe Terrier will move on to a side in the Champions League soon.

5. Jamal Musiala

Jamal Musiala is destined for the very top. After breaking through into Bayern Munich's first team aged just 17. The attacking midfielder has quickly become not only a first choice for the German champions but also for the German national team. This season Musiala has started to find his goalscoring form, and he is starting to demonstrate what an elite talent he is. His biggest strengths are his dribbling, pace, passing and versatility, and he's only getting better. The sky really is the limit for Jamal Musiala.
