If you're looking for a new league to manage in Football Manager 2023, consider these four interesting leagues which might be ideal for your next save.

Like many Football Manager 2023 players, you likely spend most of your time in the domestic leagues of your own country. But while I've both won European titles with Celtic and took my hometown team, Clyde, to the very top of the Scottish game, it all just gets a little dull. So, too, does firing up a save as a European superpower already at the top of the tree. So, if you are looking for a new FM2023 challenge like me, I have four clear recommendations for leagues to try out.

1. Ligue 1

While it's by no means a 'small' league, Ligue 1 is a brilliant league to manage in. It's a highly competitive league, meaning most games are tight, and Paris Saint-Germain offer a fantastic behemoth to try and topple as the seasons go by. It's a fun little league to try out, and you have some historical sides to pick from. This league has many fallen giants, the biggest of which are listed below. Ideal for dynasty building in a competitive league that's loaded up with exciting talent. Recommended Teams to manage in French Ligue 1 – Marseille, Rennes, Saint Etienne, and Lille.

2. Brazilian Serie A

The Brazilian top flight is a fantastic place to start for people who love three games a week all year round. You have many historic clubs to choose from, a few bucks to spend at most clubs, and a regen system that makes finding the next star a piece of cake. The fun is also in the fact that the league is so competitive. Within a year or two, you can see numerous winners of all competitions – including the Copa Libertadores. Definitely one for South American fans or those wanting something new. Recommended teams to manage in Brazilian Serie A – Flamengo, Bahia, Fluminense, and Corinthians.

3. Allsvenskan

The Swedish top flight is a great league, and it offers many good teams to come and try out. The level of talent it produces is good, too, and there is ample choice for older big names from Swedish football to bring back as the years go by. A good league with a lot of quality and a strong enough financial balance to easily build something worth remembering. A good choice for a European league that's a little bit different from what you might normally try out. Summer football, too! Recommended teams to manage in the Swedish Allsvenskan league – IFK Goteborg, Malmo FF, Helsingborgs, and Hammarby IF.

4. Chinese Super League

Want to go nuts and spend some money whilst trying to cultivate a growing domestic talent market? Then try out the Chinese Super League. Many fans have not tried it out yet, but most clubs have plenty of cash to throw around and convincing big names to come to China isn't as hard as it was in previous editions. A good one for those who want to have some marquee names and also develop quality Chinese players through a long-term progression system. Recommended teams to manage from the Chinese Super League are Beijing Guoan, Jiangsu Suning, Guangzhou Evergrande, and Shanghai Shenhua.
