Here are five leagues you might find interesting to start a save on Football Manager 2023.
Denmark
The Danish league is a really fun league to manage in. Due to the fact that there are only 12 teams in the Superliga, seasons pass very quickly. There’s also a group of really interesting teams to choose from: FC Midtjylland are famed for their scouting and data analysis, and Brondby are a side that have fallen on hard times after being the biggest club in the country during the 90s. FC Copenhagen are Denmark’s dominant team, and FC Nordsjaelland have connections with Africa. Also, Denmark is a superb country to begin a journeyman save as there are three leagues in the pyramid.
South Africa
The main benefit of loading South Africa at the beginning of your save is that because it is the only possible African country on FM, it gives you access to more players from other African countries. So, countries like Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, etc will produce more newgens on the game. Therefore, even if you’re not managing in South Africa, you will have access to those cheap gems from leagues with a lower reputation. Added to this point is having South Africa loaded means for a greater number of players available for all African national teams if you want to give international management a try.
Also, if you try to do a Pentagon save (win the Champions League in all five confederations), South Africa is the only possible African league on the game. Some South African teams that might be worth managing include Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates, AmaZulu, Mamelodi Sundowns etc.

Colombia
Colombia is another nation which is a hotbed for wonderkids. Clubs like Atlético Nacional, América de Cali, Millonarios, and Deportivo Cali make for a list of clubs who often produce superb players who can go on to become world beaters. Additionally, the Colombian league is set up with an Apertura (opening stage) and Finalización (closing stage), which means two winners are crowned after playoffs each season. Colombia, therefore, is a really different and enjoyable place to manage in.

USA
The nation with the strictest, most complicated and, occasionally, most baffling rules is the USA. However, that doesn’t stop the MLS from being one of the most enjoyable leagues to manage in. Once you get your head around all of the complexities like Designated Players, the Superdraft, player rights, International Slots etc., the league becomes a great place to be. The draft system makes for a fairness in the league, which stops any one team from dominating for too long. Equally, the ability to attract high-quality players from Europe and South America using the Designated Player system (aka the Beckham Rule) adds a really unique element to the MLS. The USA is an ideal stop in search of the Pentagon challenge.
Mexico
Liga MX is the strongest league in North America and is the 4th most attended in the world (after the Premier League, Bundesliga, and La Liga. Mexico boasts a selection of high-quality teams like Monterrey, Tigres, America and Chivas, who can only sign Mexican nationals. The structure of the league is similar to that of Colombia, as Liga MX has an opening and a closing stage as well as playoffs. Overall, managing in Mexico is definitely worth trying.
