Are you looking to try out your managerial skill in the international waters but don't know who to test it with? Well, here are 4 international teams to manage on FM22 and see if you're up for the job.
One of the Football Manager’s most underused and underappreciated features is international management. It can, though, be an extremely rewarding part of the game. There are many unique challenges that being a national team manager can bring from qualifying for a tournament for the first time to breaking a long trophyless spell. One of the great features in recent FM’s is being able to convince players who have a second nationality to join your national team.
There are a huge number of national sides to take over on FM22. In order to be able to take over some of them, you will need to have specific leagues added at the beginning (or during) the game. For example, if you want to manage an African team, it makes sense to have both the South African leagues and the French leagues to get more African players loaded.
This list will give you some ideas of international teams to manage on Football Manager 2022. Can you fulfil every young football fan’s dream of lifting the World Cup?
1. England
Jules Rimet still gleaming
Thirty years of hurt
Never stopped me dreaming
Those are the lyrics of the infamous “Three Lions”. Now, after 56 years, football still hasn’t come home. Last year England came as close as they ever have done by getting into the Euro 2020 final but, typically, losing on a penalty shootout to Italy.
England’s squad is extremely talented and full of world-class players. Harry Kane is the talismanic captain up front, Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling and Jack Grealish provide great creativity and Declan Rice is the side’s heartbeat in central midfield. Jude Bellingham is the future of the Three Lions.
Getting the team to click and managing the huge expectations of the nation is extremely difficult. It has been said the job of England manager is as important as the Prime Minister. Can you cope with these lofty expectations and finally bring football home to a craving nation?

However, the El Tri are the most successful North American national side having won Olympic gold in 2016 and the Confederations Cup in 1999. They have also won the Gold Cup 8 times, one more than their great rivals the USA.
In order to maintain dominance in North America and to challenge for the World Cup, Mexico have some very good players: Raul Jimenez, Hirving Lozano, Hector Herrera, and Edison Alvarez.

4. American Samoa
As can be expected the squad is extremely weak. Paluani Tapusoa is American Samoa’s star man. Fortunately, most of the other teams in Oceania are relatively weak as well. Overcoming New Zealand, however, will be a much greater challenge. Can you take this tiny side to success? Maybe even get revenge over Australia?
