What is AS Cannes’s history?

French football is an odd place, with many top clubs with prestigious histories sitting away down the leagues. One fine example of this is AS Cannes. Formed in 1902, Les Dragons have become a joke figure in the French game, playing in the National 3 Group D – and failing to get promoted. Despite producing the likes of Zinedine Zidane and Patrick Vieira, as well as Sebastien Frey, this is not a club built for success.

Their last success came in 1932, winning the Coupe de France, and they have not been a top-flight club since 1998. So, you have your work cut out for you building something here!

 

What is AS Cannes’s objectives and finances?

Your finances are, as you might expect, awful. French football is in the financial doldrums at present, and AS Cannes are no different. Who are the best players at AS Cannes?

In terms of talent, your two best players are Franck Dja Djedje and Nicolas Verdier. However, both are in their mid-30s, and while they were once good talents at this level, they are likely a fading force after your first year or two. Try to put in place a success plan of sorts. Also, they will be free agents if you start with the updated database on FM22.

Another player to keep an eye on is Nicholas Coulanghon; he is a 23-year-old with some decent potential to step up to a higher division. Outside of this, though, you are pretty much on your own. you might wish to try and play with a No. 10, though, as Algerian playmaker Mehdi Kadi is a solid option for using as your primary creative outlet. Outside of the above, though, you are pretty much starting fresh.
