Here's an FM22 guide on how to add the Saudi Professional League to your game.
Football Manager 2022 by Sports Interactive boasts numerous features, including league and cup competitions in 53 playable nations, most of which are fully licensed. But what if you want to experience management in a league that isn’t featured, whenever starting a new career save? Sadly, the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is often overlooked, which means that you can’t choose many exciting competitions from the start.
Despite the growing prestige of top leagues in the MENA countries, which are increasingly attracting world-class players, they still aren’t playable options in FM22. This means that without editing or modifying the game itself, we can’t start career saves in the Saudi Professional League, UAE Pro League or the Qatar Stars League, amongst others.
Adding Leagues & Competitions
For those of us who enjoy watching the Saudi Professional League, there is a comprehensive guide covered by the best sports betting sites for Saudi Arabians, packed full of useful information about wagering safely and securely. This focuses on reviewing online bookmakers who provide language options in Arabic, plus markets for all our favourite domestic sports and competitions.
As for making the Saudi Professional League a playable competition in FM22, the first thing to do is download and install the official pre-game database editor bundled with the game. This is not to be confused with the FM22 In-game Editor, which is an additional DLC purchase via Steam, only intended for use with a save that is actually up and running.
The pre-game editor allows you to add existing leagues which are currently set as inactive, such as the Saudi Professional League, amongst many others. Interestingly, most of the Saudi football pyramid already features in the FM22 game database, which means we can even choose to add the Saudi First Division along with promotion and relegation.
If we want to take things a step further, the Saudi Second Division Group A and B are also in the database, therefore we can include three tiers of Saudi Arabian football. Once we have selected the leagues and competitions we want, this modified archive can then be saved as a custom game database, which can be chosen whenever starting a new career save in FM22 instead of the ‘default’ option.
Downloading an Edited Database
Thankfully, one thing the Football Manager series has always enjoyed is a thriving modding community. This can range from team and competition logo packs, to face packs with updated images of all our favourite players, both of which are available to download here at FM Blog. Other content creators have focused their attention on adding leagues and competitions, either emulating those in the real world or delving into fantasy realms.
Many of the most popular sites throughout the FM community offer custom database downloads, ranging from updates to existing competitions to unlocking additionally playable nations and leagues. One of the most popular is Around the Globe Megapack by @DaveTheEditor which fminside.net is currently hosting, featuring 178 playable nations including fully functional leagues from all the major MENA countries.
The #AroundTheGlobe pack is now available on @fminside. 😍

Another is the Leagues Megapack 2022 by qwer2 at arabFM.net and features 215 leagues at present, plus a host of additional regional and continental competitions for MENA countries. These include the Arab Club Championship, Gulf Club Champions League, Gulf Cup of Nations, and even the Saudi-Egyptian Super Cup. That said, this is very much a work in progress due to the huge scale of making sure each competition works correctly.
To conclude, it is entirely possible to add practically any league or competition in FM22, including the Saudi Professional League, accompanied by updated information for all its teams and players. However, deciding how many leagues to run at once will depend entirely on the capabilities of your PC, as choosing more competitions at the start of a save will inevitably slow down the game.
