With the African Cup of Nations in full flow, the eyes of the footballing world are on the continent. Africa’s greatest stars are currently lighting up Cameroon, in one of the most hotly-anticipated tournaments in recent memory. To celebrate, here's four African players you definitely need to scout on your FM22 save. Mady Camara

I can’t get enough of this guy, starting FM22 at Olympiakos is Guinea’s, Mady Camara. A ball-winning midfielder with seemingly endless stamina, Mady has been at the heart of my midfield on several saves so far, and should definitely be on your radar for any top-flight side. He’ll set you back around £10m, but with instant contribution and room to improve even further, his resale value turns into a very tidy profit.

Maduka Okoye

Eduoard Mendy and Andre Onana are leading the way for African goalkeepers at the moment, and Maduka Okoye definitely deserves to be in that company. Available from Sparta Rotterdam in FM22, Okoye is a solid, all-round keeper who can contribute for any Premier League level side immediately, and has room for serious growth. You’ll need to be quick though, he’s just signed for Watford in real life, so once the winter transfer update comes out from SI, he’ll be gone.

Joe Aribo

Rangers fans won’t thank me for drawing attention, but Joe Aribo is an excellent addition to any top-flight side. His insane technical ability, coupled with excellent off the ball, vision and teamwork make him an absolutely deadly threat from the attacking midfielder position. Again, he should be available for around £6-12m, but with a little work on slightly underwhelming anticipation and bravery, he’s easily a £30m+ player in the right system.

Aziz Ouattara

The Ivorian centre-back is one of many young African players plying their trade in Scandinavia. Hammarby IF’s Aziz Ouattara has been blessed with physical gifts many CBs can only dream of, and his pace makes him ideally suited to the high defensive line we all know and love. His excellent mental attributes also make him a low-risk investment, especially as Hammarby are known to let him go for pennies. He’s not ready for high-level football, so this is an investment in development, but when he reached his potential he’s a very very good centre-back, especially for the modest outlay.

Tino Kadewere

The Zimbabwean striker is currently plying his trade at OL in Ligue 1. Available for around £2.5m, his finishing, composure and off the ball make him a great bargain advanced forward.

Samuel Chukwueze 

Valued at around £30m by Villarreal might stretch the definition of a bargain, but the Nigerian winger can be a genuine world-leading attacker. For £30m, I’d regard that as excellent value for money.

Christian Kouame 

At 23 years old, Christian Kouame so far hasn’t set the world alight, but his pace and mental attributes make him an excellent option as an advanced forward. On loan at Anderlecht for the first season, he’s available for a good price from Fiorentina from summer 2022.
