who likes to start from the very bottom and build up.
Many Football Managers players like to start at the bottom of the English pyramid as it’s a long journey to the top. This list has some teams that could be ideal for that rise to the top.
Chester
The Deva Stadium is located on the border of England and Wales. The pitch itself is famously located in Wales rather than England. But the club is classified as being in England as Chester’s offices are actually in England.
Chester’s squad is settled and the line-up includes forward George Waring, experienced midfielder Gary Roberts, talented full-back Joel Taylor and former Manchester City youngster George Glendon.
Chester have adequate training facilities and a decent sized stadium for their level. Therefore, the club has plenty of potential to get back to Football League where they spent much of their existence before reforming.

Another former Football League side, York City are one of the favourites for
promotion from the National League North. York have been the National League
North for three seasons now and so will be looking bounce back.
The squad looks very strong for the league. Harry Bunn is a new signing from Kilmarnock; the winger has the ability to play at a higher level. He will be the key in York’s promotion push. Alongside Bunn, are midfielder Michael Woods, and goal scorer Jack Redshaw.
York City will soon be moving into a brand new 8,000-seater stadium after spending 88 years at Bootham Crescent. 2022 will be the club’s centenary year; can you get back-to-back promotions to lift York City back into the Football League in two seasons?

Semi-pro Braintree are predicted to finish bottom of the National League
South. The club’s finances are extremely insecure as Braintree are in debt.
So, there is a tiny wage budget and nothing to spend on transfers. To add to
this, the club’s facilities are very poor. And, to put the icing on the cake,
Braintree’s squad is tiny.
The squad will be built around star centre midfielder Alfie Payne. He is the key to staving off relegation as you try to build the foundations at Cressing Road. But new cheap signings will be needed imminently.

Football Manager 2021 teams to manage
Do you want to manage a team in England with Portuguese players but Wolves
play too high up the pyramid? Well, Dulwich Hamlet are the team for you. At
centre back is former Atletico Madrid youngster Sandro Embolo and in midfield
is ex Porto man Diogo Barbosa. Rounding out the Portuguese speakers is Angolan
Kuagica David.
Dulwich Hamlet have never played higher than the National League South having just spent their second season in the league. And so, the club have limited facilities and a smallish stadium. Will you keep the influx of foreign players coming into the club or will you take the more typical signing British players route?
