Building a team in Football Manager 2021 and want to build your own side of babes? Then you need to bring in some smart talent. No, not “that” kind of babe – like the famous Busby Babes of Manchester United!
To do this, though, you need to know where to look. To help you save some time, here are five of the best young wonderkids on the FM2021 database. We’ve chosen names that just about any top-flight club or club with access to European football should be able to entice before the wonderkid makes their name.
If you are like many people, you will have noticed that Norway is becoming a bit of a gem nation for young footballing talent. While Kris Ajer and Erling Haaland are proof that Football Manager 2021 isn’t too favourable to Scandinavian wonderkids, Kristoffer Klaesson is another example of a superstar in the making.
The 19-year-old is uncapped at any level but has everything you might need in a young goalkeeper. He’s worth just £400k or so at the start, making him very affordable.
While it is often rare to find affordable youngsters, Max Normann Williamsen would be a very smart investment. Currently, at Kristiansund, the 17-year-old should be available for well under the £2m mark. Even if you had to pay that high a fee, you are buying one of the most exciting young central defenders in the fm21 database.
And hey, he’s Norwegian too! Pair him with Klaesson and you’ve got some proper Nordic steel in your team.
We don’t mean to just give you a list of Scandinavians, but it seems to be a fine place to look for value wonderkids. Currently playing in Sweden with IFK Norrkoping, the Icelandic star has all the ability in the world to make it in midfield.
He’s also quite versatile, capable of filling out in the wide areas or even at full-back if you need someone to step in for a half or so. Easily affordable and attractable, too.
While young Gavi might sound like a joke version of Xavi, especially as he comes through the FC Barcelona academy, he might be the most exciting youngster in Football Manager 2021. Only 15, he’s a tremendous young asset and could be picked up for 300K. Given that fee and his stratospheric potential, he would suit into any Spanish-speaking dressing room.
Got all the technical ability you could need of a young attacking midfielder and surprisingly deep mental attributes.
Looking for the ‘new Luis Suarez’? Then find £2m in your budget and buy River Plate Montevideo superstar Matias Arezo. He’s fast, aggressive, determined, and very good in the air. For a 17-year-old, he has a strangely unique and varied blend of attributes that should ensure he fits into anything but the most challenging of teams.
A strong, aggressive, talented youngster with an immense future in the game. He’s definitely got the ‘grinta’ one needs from a young forward, and no shortage of talent either!
