Manchester United
Manchester United are known for being giants of the English game, winning the top league in English football 20 times. Recent form however has seen them struggle to even get European football. Since Sir Alex’s departure, United have not been the same, and I could be your job to return the Red Devil’s to their glory.

First things first, there is no denying the strength of the squad at Man Utd, players such as Maguire, Rashford and James, aren’t just footballers, but they’re out their with the best, at least in the premier league. This means that there may be underlying issues to resolve, obviously meaning there will be some big decisions to be made, maybe to sell a big name player, or bring a big name player in, it could all be in your hands.
United have a strong youth system which could be an important part of your save, players like Greenwood and Chong coming through the ranks could be crucial for future seasons. Maybe your philosophy could prove that you can win with kids.
If making transfers is your game, United will be perfect for you, as they are bound to have a big transfer budget due to the size and history of the club. Signing big players won’t be difficult from a financial viewpoint, however if you can’t guarantee results, players may be interested in moves elsewhere.
Finally, playing in the top flight of English football, and having the opportunity to play and win European competitions is another benefit of managing Manchester United on FM20, as it means there will be more need for squad rotation, more games to showcase youth players and even more big games and rivalries. So why not give it a shot and take over at Old Trafford in FM20.
Middlesbrough
Yet another underperforming English team, Middlesbrough, who have slowly but surely declined since they lost Aitor Karanka. It could be up to you to return them to the Premier League, and maybe even push for European Success.
The Boro are another team with a great Youth System and have provided some great names over the years, Brad Jones, Stewart Downing and Ben Gibson to name a few. Current exciting prospects include Dael Fey, Nathan Wood and Lewis Wing, all of who better are destined for great football careers.
Unlike Manchester United, Middlesbrough don’t have the most money to splash out in the transfer market, with a record signing of £15 Million for Britt Assombalonga, it may be an idea to look for some smaller reputation players to bolster the squad.

The squad certainly doesn’t lack talent, just a bit of confidence, with players like Britt Assombolonga, Adam Clayton and Darren Randolph it would be easy to put a good string of results together with good management.
With a squad like this it would certainly be possible to push for automatic promotion in the first season, and look to establish a reputation as a premier league side.
Salford City
Take over the EFL new boys Salford City, and get the backing of the class of 92 to lead them to glory. As far as League 2 teams go Salford have some pretty good finances and a lot of experience in the footballing world in the back room staff.
The media exposure that they have had as a result of their owners has made them a famous club, and will make players from lower leagues interested in signing for you.

Why not look to see if you can get back to back promotions and send Salford shooting up the football league. Eventually, there could even be three Manchester based teams in the Premier League potentially even fighting for the title, so why not get your name in the history books, and take over at Salford who knows what could happen?
Darlington
Not too long ago, Darlington were a EFL side, until financial disaster struck and sent them plummeting down the leagues. The quakers are almost back, however they have been stuck in the Vanarama National North for a few years now and everybody in the club is eager for promotion.
Why not take it upon yourself to lead the partially fan funded club back to the football league, and see how high up the tables you can take them. Rebuilding Darlington and potentially taking them back up the leagues would be a tough ask due to the financial status of the club, but it is by no means impossible and essentially would be a great idea for a road/return to glory save.

This would be a save where you could again etch your name into the history books, taking Darlington above League 1 would see them the highest they have ever been in the football league.
