The transfer window had just slammed shut, and after the farce of Lewis Cook telling me he wants 2 to move on, I was tempted to sell him just to try salvage some squad harmony. Luckily no one sided with him, and in fact the majority of the squad backed my handling of him. So I made the decision to retain him, but he's only turning out for the reserve squad until he apologises, given that I could've issued a warning or even a fine, I think I've been quite fair on him. Due to my agreed philosophies I brought in a lot of youth, but I always had a plan of who I wanted to replace and which areas I wanted to strengthen. Below is a list of the final transfers.
In
Gianni Bruno, 23yo Belgian forward from Evian TG for £1.2m. Replacement for Chris Wood and fits my tactical style better.
Kristoffer Ajer - 17yo Danish midfielder from Start for £17k. Young but ready for first team already.
Morgan Amalfitano - 30yo French winger on a free. Much needed to bolster the team. Unable to pay till January but should make an impact straight away.
Daniel LeClerc - 17yo Canadian left back. Cover and one to watch for the future.
Massimo Rocchi - 17yo old American centre back. Took a chance on him for a future star.
Hilmar MacShane - 16yo Icelandic forward for £83k. Already 6'2" with great work rate and finishing.
Aron Kari Aòelsteinsson - 16yo Icelandic attacking midfielder for £150k. An 8.9 rating in his first competitive start.
Lewis Vaughan - 19yo pacey striker from Raith. Cost £100k but looks a promising young player.
Umberto Fontana - 18yo American DM from LA galaxy academy. Leadership, determination and tackling already 15+.
Harrison Reed - loan signing from Southampton. Half back cover for Tom Adeyemi.
Out
Souleymane Doukara- £800k to Wolves
Giuseppe Bellusci - £1.5m to Bournemouth
Chris Wood - £2.7m to Bournemouth
