While you can get a generated son in Football Manager 2014, it is almost near to impossible. With this tutorial we'll try to cheat the game and earn ourselves a son.
Who of us doesn't want to have a regen son in Football Manager? Just when you think you've had enough of the game, a young lad in the youth intake pops out and what do you know, it's your very own son.
With this simple tutorial we'll mention what you'll need to do in order to obtain your heir in the game. It's nothing complicated, but it also has to be mentioned that it might not work as written here.
It's highly unlikely that if you do not follow this tutorial you won't get a son, because the chance to get one is 1 to 10.000! We'll try to work the odds in our favour, and luckily it will work.
So, first thing you'll need to do is to manage a club for consecutive 10 years in Football Manager Classic mode, and then you'll have the option to unlock the son. This is really important!
Or if you're playing a regular mode of Football Manager, then you need to be 35 years old in the game, or older than that.
Next, your club like any other in FM14 will take a yearly Youth Intake, and one of the candidates will have the same last name as you, that is your son! You'll be his favourite personnel as well, in a father role.
Now, clubs take roughly 15 players per youth intake, so the chances of getting you're very own son are slim, so what we want you to do is the following;
- You have to manage a club 10 consecutive seasons in FM Classic mode. Or if you're playing a regular mode of FM, you need to be over 35 years old in the game.
- Unlock the son option (classic mode).
- In your next season (11th), DAY BEFORE your club announces new youth candidates, SAVE your game!
- Process the game and see if you got your very own regen son.
- If not, then load the game back to where you saved it.
- Repeat until you get your very own son in the game.
Basically that is it, and hopefully you'll get your son after few re-loads of the game. We've seen players get their very own son after 5 to 6 re-loads, hopefully the same will happen to you.
This will be the test for your patience, but ultimately it will be worth it once you've got a son in the youth team and after that who knows, maybe you'll make a World Class player out of him.
EDIT: Our reader reminded us that for a regular version of Football Manager 2014, you need to be over 35 years old in the game, and you can then try with save and re-load option to generate a son.
