SEGA confirms Football Manager 2026 is launching in late 2025 with major
improvements and platform expansions
This post is based entirely on what FM Console (@fm_console) uncovered and explained in his latest video. As always, he's the one who gets the scoop first, and we’re just here to help break it down and give you our take. Shoutout to @bekimxd for tipping him off and spotting the SEGA management report in the first place.
If you’d rather watch than read, here’s FM Console’s full video where he covers everything in detail:
Gone are the days of nervously refreshing Reddit threads and Discord leaks, hoping for crumbs of news. This time, we’ve got confirmation early, straight from the top. No more radio silence or speculation.
So, what’s coming – and when?
SEGA has finally confirmed the release window for Football Manager 2026. Not only that, they’ve offered a sneak peek into what’s coming next through their official management report. FM Console’s video explains it all, and we’re here to recap the key points.
1. FM26 Is Dropping in Late 2025 (Finally!)
According to SEGA, the earlier development cycle is due to "significant improvements in quality". In plain English: they’re confident FM26 will be a major leap forward.
“Significant improvements of the quality compared to previous titles in the series.” – SEGA
Quick Tip:
That release window makes a September or early October Beta likely – so if you're the type to dive in early, block out your calendar now.2. Platform Explosion: Where You Can Play FM26
FM24 was already available on Game Pass, PlayStation Plus, and even Netflix. Yes, Netflix. And SEGA has made it clear they’re going even wider with FM26.
Expect FM26 on:
- PC/Mac (as always)
- Xbox and PlayStation
- Mobile and tablet
- Game Pass, PlayStation Plus
-
Potentially new cloud platforms (think Amazon Luna, GeForce NOW)
The goal? Total accessibility. Wherever you are, whichever screen you’re on, you’ll be able to manage.
3. No FM25 – FM26 Is the Big Leap Forward 🚀
What to expect?
- New game engine (Unity)
- Cross-platform saves
- Improved modding tools
If all goes well, we’re looking at better visuals, smoother performance, and more consistency across devices.
Also teased:
- A smarter match engine (no more long-shot spam, please)
- Better UI and data display
- AI improvements (fewer DOF disasters)
- Stronger online multiplayer support
FM Console hints this could be the first truly next-gen Football Manager.
4. 17+ Million FM24 Players: The Series is Booming
And with that growth comes expectations. More users = more pressure to innovate.
According to FM Console, we could see:
- Better tutorials for new players
- More tactical depth for veterans
- Bigger tools for streamers, modders, and content creators
Final Thoughts: Is FM26 Going to Deliver?
With no FM25 in between and SEGA’s push toward quality, FM26 is shaping up to be something special.
From platform reach to gameplay polish, this could be the most ambitious version yet. Whether you want to revive a fallen giant, build a dynasty from scratch, or test yourself with a Youth-Only save – it’s time to start planning.
