Another year, another season, another opportunity to see something special. Football Manager 2021 is expected to arrive in November 2020, and with it will come a new database to pour through and master. While we don’t have that database yet, we’ve built a quick list of some of the players that we think will be ranked among the highest wonderkids on the FM21 database in the next season.
OUT NOW: Football Manager 2021 Wonderkids Shortlist
Of course, these are just our views at the moment; don’t go and use your summer budget on these FM2021 wonderkids based on our say-so!
Samuele Vignato
Seen by many as the next big thing in Italian football (after Sandro Tonali and Nicolo Zaniolo, of course), Samuele Vignato has many fans excited already. The 16-year-old looks very much likely to make a big impact on the sport and could be a very exciting talent indeed.
He’s an attacking midfielder and he looks set to make a pretty big impact on many Italian saves across Football Manager 2021; he’s a truly exciting talent, precocious in the extreme.
Rhian Brewster
While we’ve all known about young Brewster for a while, a breakout year with Swansea City has shown he isn’t just a youth level legend. He’s got the skill, the graft, and the technique to make it at the very top of the game.
While buying him might prove quite expensive given he’s at the reigning Premier League champions, he’s set to be loaned out from the looks of things – maybe you could pick him up that way?
Aaron Hickey
Another exciting young player is Heart of Midlothian full-back Aaron Hickey. Linked with domestic giants Celtic and European royalty in Bayern Munich, he’s got plenty of interested parties on his case. A two-footed full-back who has decent enough pace and great technique, Hickey has been in the regular first-team scene since he was 16 years of age.
Definitely a player to follow, and could join a growing list of excellent young Scottish full-backs emerging in the last years.
Torben Rhein
If you are looking for someone already at Bayern Munich, though, you should look no further than Torben Rhein. Expected to break into the first team in the coming years, the 17-year-old has all of the skills needed to make it big. A competent central midfielder at all sides of the game, he’s an excellent player with a great eye for a pass and a solid off-the-ball attitude.
A fine young player, and definitely one looking a close eye on.
Emre Demir
If you are a fan of Turkish football, you’ll likely have heard the name of Emre Demir. The youngster has everything about him to make it at the top end of the game – he’s even been getting regular games in midfield since he first made his debut as a 15-year-old in November 2019.
COVID-19 has probably stopped him from showcasing his talent further, but there is no doubting that Emir has everything in his locker to be a proper FM2021 wonderkid.
