Hatem Ben Arfa
One of the most talented dribblers in the world, the French winger has represented some of the best clubs in the world. He never reached the heights he was supposed to due to some disciplinary issues but the quality of the winger can never be doubted. He has won five Ligue 1 titles and has been crowned as Ligue 1 young player of the year, as well as featured in the Ligue 1 team of the year.
It is hard to believe that such a talented star is without a club at just 32 years and could turn your season around if you manage to get him.
Fabio Coentrao
The 31 year old Portuguese left back was released by Rio Ave in 2019 and is now without a club. He could be one of the most decorated free agents with 1 Portuguese league title, 2 La Liga titles, 2 Champion’s league titles, 1 UEFA Super cup, 2 Club World cups and several individual honours including being a part of the UEFA team of the tournament in EURO 2012. After leaving Real Madrid, the full back’s career has been a downward spiral. However, class is permanent, I’m sure Coentrao will be a crucial addition to most managers sides at least as a backup.
Keisuke Honda
The 33 year old attacking midfielder is one of the most talented players to emerge of Japan till date. He is a well decorated footballer having won 4 cups with CSKA Moscow and 1 with AC Milan. He has also won the Asia cup with Japan in 2011. He has also been awarded the best Japanese player award in 2010 and is a part of the best all time XI for the Asia cup. Honda was released by Melbourne Victory despite scoring 7 goals in 20 appearances for the club. The quality still seems to be there with Honda and will be a bargain addition to most clubs irrespective of which league you compete in.

Johan Djourou
The Swiss defender is a free agent after having been released by SPAL. He never really achieved the promised heights as he was one time regarded as the best young prospect in the Arsenal defence. A tall centre back, Djourou, is very good in the air and will do an adequate job for most teams. At just 32, you could still potentially get a couple of good seasons out of the centre back.
Wilfried Bony
The 30 year old Ivory Coast striker is currently a free agent. Having played for some of the best clubs across a variety of leagues, Bony is a renowned striker. He has won the Eredivisie & the Czech league with Vitesse & Sparta Prague respectively. He was the player of the season in the Eredivise in 2012 and was the league’s top goalscorer. He also also won the Afcon in 2015 and has represented his nation 56 times. At just 30, Bony may still have a lot of goals in him and could see you turn around your season if you are in desperate need of goals.
