This is my second update about taking Leeds back to the Premier League. The preseason and the summer transfer window has passed. Let us take a look at who has come and gone and how the start of the season has gone.
Transfers
Rodrigo Bentancur - People who have played the game more than three times know this player. He is one of the biggest talents in the game and can play in centre midfield as well as right midfield.
I had no hope of signing him, but i figured I might as well try. And BAM! He agreed to a season long loan. Awesome signing, whom I can hopefully make a new deal with at the end of the season - Loan or transfer.
Carles Aleña - 17 year old central midfielder from Barcelona's Academy. I know this players from previous saves and thought I would give signing him a try. I had to offer him a bit more in wages than I wanted, but what I have previously learnt is that he is worth it. I got him for only 800k, but this also took a great deal out of my transfer budget. He is very talented and can develop into a world class midfielder.
Andrija Zivkovic - This player needs no introduction. Potential to be one of the best inside forwards in the game and usually tracked by every one of the major clubs in the game. So as you can imagine I had NO HOPES of signing this wonder kid. I knew he was available for a low price and I could see when scouting him that there was no interest in him for any other club, so I thought I would give it a go. And as crazy as it might seem the bid 625k with a couple of clauses included was accepted. I again had to offer a lot in wages, however I am confident that he will earn the money back for me in the near future.
Great Deal
I have to mention this player: Flávio Ferreira. He is 24 year old central defender who is available on a free transfer. He is injured for 3 months, but if you can wait he will be a rock in your defence. He has, as you can guess, been awesome at the back!To see who else joined the team, click on the image above.
The Season So Far
We totally dominated the game and won a secure victory, 3-1. This was only the beginning. 10 victories in 11 games (Cup games included). We had two difficult games in the Capital One Cup against Leicester and Chelsea. In both games we were under a massive amount of pressure, but brilliant goal keeping and clinical finishing resulted in two great victories.
It seems like the game itself does not want me to advance in the Cup, given that Man Utd is our next opponent.
Biggest Surprise
Other than the fact that we are currently in first place of the league the biggest surprise has to be Stuart Dallas. He was from the start of the season one of the players whom I wanted to replace with a better one, and I actually brought in Mikkel Duelund from FC Midtjylland. But fate would have that before Duelund got his debut he got injured and was ruled out for five weeks. Stuart Dallas was brilliant in his absence, bagging five crucial goals and one man of the match.Honestly this is not that big of a surprise but I had to mention it: Andrija Zivkovic is awesome! Scoring nine goals in ten games is helping the team succeed in the league.
My Tactic
Join me next time where i give you an update half way through the season. Hopefully everything is going on track and we will be cruising on our way to promotion!
