We're going to give you some tips for beginners on what to put in place
first to start a dynasty in Football Manager.
How, then, can you help to start a genuine dynasty in Football Manager? What should you put in place before you go to that first press conference with the assorted journalists?
1. Hire your backroom staff
Same as players, use your staff search to find the best possible
backroom staff. |
2. Give out key assignments.
Once your staff are in place, it’s time to arrange responsibilities. We recommend that you look to manage the following factors:
- Set the staff responsibilities for things like coaching, scouting, and press conferences.
- Set scouting assignments, choosing countries, teams, and leagues you’ll likely target.
- Arrange your News and social Media followings to avoid clutter in your inbox.
- Prepare Team Reports for every team in your domestic league via your chief scout.
- Request a Team Report for your own staff, both from the original staff and your new hires.
Go to your staff screen and outsource responsibilities to make your
life easier. |
3. Arrange a shortlist
Next, take the time to build a full shortlist of players. We recommend that you look to include players you already have in mind to target, as many players from the domestic league as possible and as many players under the age of 21 as you can find. This gives your scouts a better idea of who to look out for, ensuring that you have a better scouting system in place from the first day.
Do not forget to change the default 'Don't Shortlist' option from
the scout responsibilities screen. |
4. Evaluate your squad
Before you do anything else, such as setting tactics in place, evaluate your team. Look at what you have in terms of positions filled and actual quality. Look to pick out your top five to six players and see what formation would suit them best.
Include youth players when looking into squad depth so you can see
which youngsters to count on in the future. |
It’s easier to build a system that suits the players you actually have as opposed to trying to shoehorn the rest of your squad into a system that might not suit their individual strengths.
5. Set training regimes
Now, go through every member of your squad who you intend to keep and start changing their training to suit the role you see them playing. The sooner you set this in motion, it easier it will become for your players to adjust to the kind of system you want them to play.
From the individual training screen, change what position and role you
want for a player to train. |
Don’t leave adjusting things like individual training regimes until pre-season starts; do it early, and you’ll have a player far more committed and prepared when the opening day arrives.
