To help you put together a new generation of British stars in Football Manager 2020, here is a list of five of the best young British players that you should definitely look to snap up if you want to enter the 2020s with a bright young core of talent more than capable of making the step up.
Who, then, are the next generation of British kids worth paying big for?
Jude Bellingham
Many will have heard of the young Birmingham star, but it would be hard to say anything other than good things about his talent. Bellingham is a deeply likeable young midfielder; technically sound, excellent athletically, and more than capable of playing every week from the first season. While you might need to pay a pretty penny to land him, Bellingham definitely is a player worth building a team around. He’s got the talent and maturity to play at any level.
Karamoko Dembele
Young Karamoko Dembele star is known for his massive social media following, but he looks pretty set to become one of the most exciting young talents in the world. Technically delicious and a great dribbler, he’s only got to work on the physical side of his game. Even for a young player, his mental attributes are very impressive as is his ability to get by his man without too much stress. Definitely one to push for.
Nohan Kenneh
The Leeds United youngster can play in central defence or in midfield, and he’s a very interesting young player. He’s got a tremendous engine and a great reading of the game for one so young, and he definitely has all that is needed to go to the next level. Definitely a talent worth persevering with, even if he isn’t quite ready to play games for you from the opening weekend he’ll be first-team ready in 12-18 months certainly.
Liam Morrison
The youngster moved from FC Celtic to FC Bayern, so it’s safe to say that he has a fair amount of talent. In the game, he has more than enough chance to break through at most clubs; an interesting young Scottish player with a very intriguing history. Morrison definitely has it in him to become a top-class central defender, though it might take him 12-18 months, like Kenneh, to be a regular in your side. A classy player with enough pace and technique to play any role in central defence.
Neco Williams
The young Liverpool youngster has naturally turned a lot of heads with his performances in real life, but he looks like a great right-back in FM2020 as well. Perhaps a hard one to get as he’s already at a major club, but even a loan with the option to buy could be possible. Unlikely to break through at Liverpool so you might be able to get him when he becomes disillusioned with the lack of available gametime.
