Unlike all the lists made by following the game's algorithm on who the best players are, this time it's the players that have a say on the matter.
Without further ado, here's a list of the absolute top ten wonderkids in Football Manager 2020 according to the ones that play the wonderful game the most.
10. Dani Olmo
Although technically no longer a wonderkid missing the status by a month at the start of FM20, Dani Olmo is a definite go-to bargain wonderkid for players in FM2020. If you're starting a save with the original database you'll find the advanced playmaker at the Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb and you'll be able to get him for as low as £10M. Due to his irrefutable quality, he earned himself a transfer to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig and that's where you'll be able to manage him if you start a new save with the January transfer update.
9. Ansu Fati
The 16-year-old has drawn heady comparisons with the game's greatest players, including precocious talents like Pele, George Best and his team-mate and captain at Barcelona, Lionel Messi. His talents haven't gone unnoticed for Sports Interactive scouts nor the Football Manager players. Ansu Fati is a hard one to get, but if you manage to capture the young Spaniard you'll have a world-class talent for another 15 years at your disposal. Best to play him as an Inside Forward on the left side where he managed to average a rating of 7.30 in our auto-generated save on FM 2020.
8. Jadon Sancho
Jadon Sancho is an English wonderkid who plays as a winger for Borussia Dortmund. He is also an English International who has represented the nation 10 times already. He is regarded as one of the best English talents in the world with his pace, acceleration and agility alleviating his dribbling skills. In the auto-generated FM20 save he has signed for Real Madrid for a whopping £71m in the 2020-2021 season and has excelled at the club. He has consistently had a hand in 20 league goals for most seasons and is a regular name in various Teams of the year.
7. Sebastiano Esposito
At 17 years of age, Sebastiano Esposito has already played against Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona in Europe's elite competition. His substitute appearance in Inter's 2-0 win over Dortmund back in late October made him the Italian side's youngest player to make a Champions League appearance. Esposito is Inter's second-youngest scorer in a Serie A match, only behind Mario Corso. In an auto-generated save on FM20, Sebastiano Esposito averages next ten seasons at 7.2, and scores a goal every second game. You could grab the youngster from Inter for a fee of £9M at the start of the save.
6. Jude Bellingham
Jude Bellingham is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Championship club Birmingham City. When he made his senior debut in August 2019, at the age of 16 years, 38 days, he became the club's youngest ever first-team player. He has represented England at under-15, under-16 and under-17 levels. You can get the young English international at the start of the game for a price of £16.5M, which looks like a bargain deal for this assist machine that averaged 10 assists per season in our auto-generated save.
5. Thiago Almada
Thiago Almada is an Argentine footballer currently playing as a winger or midfielder for Vélez Sarsfield of the Argentine Primera División. He was included in The Guardian's "Next Generation 2018". Almada has caught the eye of many FM2020 players due to his high potential combined with his bargain price at the start of the game. You can get the young Argentinian for as low as £4.1M at the very beginning, which makes him the best bargain buy in Football Manager 2020. In our auto-generated save Almada manages to have double digits in goals and assists six seasons in a row, five of them in top English tier with Spurs, with an average rating of 7.3 which makes this player a must buy in this year's FM.
4. Kylian Mbappe
It's hard to consider Kylian Mbappe a wonderkid anymore considering how much he has managed to achieve in his short spell at the top level, but due to him still being younger than 21 he does fall under a wonderkid status in Football Manager. Asking price from PSG for their most precious crown jewel is a staggering £199M, which could be the reason he has never left PSG in our auto-generated save on FM20. Mbappe is the only player on this list with double digits in goals and assists and amazing average rating of 7.9 over the course of 10 seasons.
3. Mason Greenwood
Mason Greenwood is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England under-21 team. Mason Greenwood made his first start for Manchester United in 2019 in a UEFA Europa League match against Astana, in which he scored becoming the club's youngest ever goalscorer in European competition at the age of 17 years, 353 days. Mason's third place on this list comes as a bit of a surprise given his high asking price from Man Utd of £71M for the youngster, which makes him practically unbuyable for most clubs in FM20. In our auto-generated save young English international had an average rating of 7.00 through the course of ten seasons.
2. Sandro Tonali
Sandro Tonali is an FM20 Italian wonderkid who plays as a Defensive Midfielder for Brescia. Despite being very young he has been given his senior Italian debut and is soon expected to establish himself in the national team. He is highly rated as a potential future superstar with his exceptional determination. He is relatively versatile and can play as a Defensive Midfielder or a central midfielder. Tonali is in a similar mould to Italian legend Andrea Pirlo and is said to be a natural deep playmaker similar to the superstar. His price tag is "only" £22M which makes this young Italian a must-buy for any team in FM20, especially due to his average rating of 7.40 and his 20+ assists per season.
1. Erling Halland
Erling Haaland is a Norwegian wonderkid who plays as Striker for RB Salzburg in FM20 regular database, but can be found in Borussia Dortmund if you're to start your game with the January transfer update. It comes as no surprise that the young Norwegian tops this list, because just like in real life he is amazing in Football Manager 2020 as well. In our auto-generated save he manages to finish each season with 20+ goals and with an average rating of 7.60 which is simply amazing. His price tag in the regular database is £21.5M which makes this wonderkid a must in this edition of Football Manager.
