This blog post will be on five top European teams that are no longer considered the best in their respective leagues, but are looking to make their way back to once again being considered just that.1) LIVERPOOL (ENGLAND)
Liverpool is one of the big six teams in the English Premier League for as long as we remember. Their recent success in the local league has not been good as they didn’t win the title for almost three decades where their last one dating back to 1989/90 season. But Jurgen Klopp has done an amazing job as a coach to recruit the best players for the team, taming them to suit his attacking tactics which won them the Champions League last season. So if you want to start a save in FM20 with a big team, Liverpool can be a good choice to try and challenge for the title with the tough fight from Man City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham.
2) INTER MILAN (ITALY)
Inter Milan is one of the powerhouses in Italy for many years. They are in a good run of form since Antonio Conte joined them as head coach with the additions including Lukaku and Sanchez. But in terms of trophies, there is drought for a while now especially in Serie A, their last title was two decades ago. If you are looking for a big team in Italy to start a save, go for Inter Milan and try to challenge for the title and other trophies to make a European super-giant again.
3) ATLETICO MADRID (SPAIN)
One of three big teams in Spain and the team with a lot of potentials. Atletico Madrid is team mixed with youth and experienced players in their squad. They had a superb start to the season this year. The addition of Portuguese forward João Félix to their squad had given them the consistency they were lacking. In terms of trophies, they always had given a fight to the big teams in the La Liga title and also to European teams in the Champions League reaching the final twice in the past years. If you want to start a challenging save in FM20, go for ATM and try and get them the trophies they deserve.
4) OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS (FRANCE)
The team which had shown a bit of consistency, except this year, in french football league is Lyon. They have always finished in the top 4 for the past six years. Players like Moussa Dembele, Memphis Depay, Bertrand Traore, Thiago Mendes have given the squad the quality they need to put up a fight. Although they dominated the french league for 7 years winning the title from 2001/02 to 2007/08, they didn’t win the title for a decade now. If you want to start a save in FM20 and want it to be challenging, Lyon it is.
5) BORUSSIA DORTMUND (GERMANY)
Bundesliga has always been a one-horse race for a long time now with Bayern dominating the league for the past decade winning most of the trophies. But there is always a team which gives them the fight, yes the German rebel Dortmund. They have the most loyal fans in the league and they turn up for every game to cheer for their team. With the experienced players like Reus, Götze, Hummels, Alcacer and the youth players like Sancho, Weigl, Thorgan Hazard, they can put a fight if they have the right manager. So, if you want to start a save in Bundesliga, BVB it is, It can be challenging to fight and dethrone Bayern from the league dominance and go for the other glories in Europe.
