You need to occasionally roll the dice in order to recruit the players that will take you to the next level. So here are the 4 best young players you need to look at now on FM22!
Being a successful football manager, be that in real life or on FM22 (yes yes, we know that is real life…) depends on many things. You have to get your tactics spot on. You have to be adaptable. You have to get the most out of your players, and know when and how to push them, when to hold them back. You also need to have the best players available for your budget.
That last factor is probably the most important. If you don’t have the right players, you are going to struggle, and the key to success is finding ones that are going to improve your team, now and in the future. If they can also be sold on at a tremendous profit in the not too distant future, then you have it made. It is every scout and manager’s dream to uncover the next Neymar, but the only way to do that is to take a risk on some rough diamond.
Finding those rough diamonds that have flown under the radar of other people in your position is the key to good scouting and management. Here we point you in the direction of four of those players that have the potential to be “the next best thing”.
Valentin Barco (Boca Junior)
The best thing about this Boca Junior defender is that he is capable of playing in practically any part of the pitch. Though that has held some players back in the past, with coaches not knowing where their best position is, it is still a fantastic attribute to have, especially on FM22, where flexibility is everything. Barco began as a defender, and that is his preferred position, but his technical ability and ease on the ball has meant he has been played further and further up the field. If that isn’t enough, he is also a dead ball specialist. What is not to like? Part of the Argentine Under 17 squad and already breaking into the Boca first team, it won’t be long before he is on a lot of people’s radar.
Joshua Rawlins (Perth Glory)
Again flexibility and adaptability is the name of the game with this Australian defender. A full back by trade, Rawlins is happy and capable of playing anywhere in a back three or four, and can be pushed into the midfield to play that increasingly crucial defensive midfield position. He is currently at Perth Glory, and was only 16 when he became a regular.
Pierre Dwomoh (Antwerp)
Diamonds don’t get much rougher than this Royal Antwerp midfielder. On paper he has everything. Skillful, fast, athletic. He also has a temper and a self-destructive streak that has seen him fall out with managers and clubs. If he can be managed correctly, he could be worth his weight in gold. If he isn’t he is likely to spend more time training with the youths and under 23’s than making a positive impact on the first team.
Angelo (Santos)
Though the word is already out on this Brazilian striker, he deserves a mention because if you are looking for the next Neymar or even Pele, then this is almost certainly the best candidate. Whatever else he is, he is already a record breaker. He became the youngest player to score in the Copa Libertadores when he netted at 16 years and four and a half months. He is the second youngest player to make his debut at Santos. He is a striker with more to his game than goals. He is a terrific dribbler and runner with the ball, powerful for his age, something that is only going to improve. Whatever he costs today, he will almost certainly be worth a lot more in years to come.
Final Thoughts
Not all of those players will fulfil their undoubted potential. Not all four will help your FM team achieve success, and you glory, but they are all worth looking at, and taking a risk on. They are certainly not the only ones out there, check out our previous list if none of these tick your boxes, but keep an eye out for them, as we are convinced this will not be the last you hear of them.
