5 Football Manager 2022 challenges that are not for everyone but only for the best players.
You have been playing Football Manager, probably even Championship Manager before it, accumulating thousands of hours on the game for years. You have probably played with a good number of different clubs in different nations. You may have come to think of yourself as really good at the game because you have won all there was to win.
Now that FM22 is here, who are you going to play as? You feel you want something different, something to really challenge you, but what?
This is the situation I found myself in some time ago, and what I did was a brainstorming session to come up with new challenges and ideas… not necessarily new clubs, but definitely new challenging challenges.
I am presenting them to you here, so if you think you are the best or want a different challenge, read on and be ready to choose your challenge for FM 22.
Let's start with a short-term one: The Giant-killers challenge in FM 2022. To do this, take over a club at the 3rd tier (or lower) of the national league format and aim to win the national cup competition. To clarify, I am not talking about taking a small team and growing with them until you win the competition.
You have to win the national competition while still being in the 3rd tier or lower. So, let´s take England for example. Take over a club playing in League One and win the FA Cup while still playing in League One.

Next up is the challenge which would probably take the longest to complete: The Head-hunted challenge. This time, you have to start your career as a newbie at a club (no national teams) with a 0.5-star reputation.
The aim is to win the World Cup without ever applying for a job at another team, club or nation. To move teams and to eventually take over a nation to attempt to win the World Cup, you would have to be offered the job without applying for it or declaring interest yourself. In other words, keep winning to increase your reputation enough to attract the attention of bigger clubs and/or national teams and earn your path to glory.

This waste of potential could be for different reasons: unprofessional attitudes, injuries, etc., but ideally, find someone who is 28-30 years old, someone like Jack Wilshere. This save aims to help him reach his potential by being an important player for a major title-winning side.
Start your save with the player's club. Do not try to sell him or loan him out in any way. If another team comes in with a good offer, you have the option to sell or to refuse to sell. If he moves before winning something important with you, move with him. If a better team comes in for him, it would already be somewhat of a success, earning him yet another chance at redemption. The ultimate aim is to win something important while being a regular starting player in the side.

All yours - This, ladies and gentlemen, is the ultimate youth challenge. I have played youth saves in the past, but never one so extreme. Like always, the aim of the game is to eventually win the Champions League or whatever competition is relevant for the club you choose.
Here, you have to do it without signing any players. You have to make do with what you start with, replacing them with the players your own academy produces. No transfers, no part-exchange, no loans, not even free transfers in. To win at this, you would have to get the best out of the players you get through the academy while being flexible enough to adapt to their capabilities.
