To those of which who are unaware of the objective, the aim of the save is to start unemployed without any level of experience or coaching badges to name, and attempt to win the Champions League in every single continent. However, the save does have its disadvantages.
A very real struggle for a high percentage of the Football manager community is that their PC quite simply does not have the power to load an abundance of leagues in order to run such a complex and large database, but also be able to simulate for so long (as the save could take decades to complete) – this is where the UK and Ireland challenge comes in.
The foundation of the save is very basic to that of the pentagon challenge, but is much better for those who have a computer with a lot less power behind it.
You will start the save loading up England, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland and Wales – loading up every single league from each country (approximately 21,000 players).
Your manager will start unemployed, without a single coaching badge, with the lowest level of experience possible.

There are many different ways that you could take this save, so here are the options:
League Domination:
With only a handful of countries selected, the ‘league domination’ save would be complete once you have won the top league in each of the individual countries.

The Irish Premier Division, Dasnke Bank Premiership (Northern Ireland), and JD Welsh Premier League would be the leagues you are likely to be looking to dominate first (with the biggest teams in the respective leagues being a maximum of a two-star reputation).
Winning the Champions League:
Another way to approach the save is to have the main aim being to win the Champions League. As a result, there is no need to have to go through each individual nation to win the domestic league, and can instead focus your eyes simply on the biggest accolade in club football.
Obviously, it is likely that this is most likely to be done with a English Premier League side, but going round some of the other nations top teams could be important if you want to try and gain some champions league experience in the earlier points in your career (with the top teams in nations much as Wales and Northern Ireland equating to a low championship club/ high league one club in terms of reputation) – rather than just heading straight into the English leagues.
Why the UK and Ireland Challenge?
Whichever save type you chose (or make the save even harder and combine the two together) the air of unpredictability and patience is what will allow the save to become exiting. Rather than sticking with one club with a similar set of players for a decade or so, you will be bouncing around clubs trying to both achieve domestic glory and improve your personal reputation to get a job in the top division of England.
Being a manager of a team is one thing, but you must have a knack at making the right decisions at the right time. Choosing when to move clubs (and what that destination is) is imperative. Unless you fancy yourself as the one to topple Celtic at the top of the Scottish league, you must keep aware of the managerial situation at the hoops to bag yourself the Scottish Premiership with relative ease when the position is vacant. There is also a similar situation in Wales, with The New Saints the ideal job for the Welsh league title – but is it a worthy swap if you are happy at your current club.
The ‘UK and Ireland’ Football Manager challenge is simply a template for winning a trophy across a host of different countries and can really be done by any collection of 4/5 countries that you desire. For example, if you want a more difficult variation of the save, you could go for the stereotypical big five countries in Europe (England, France, Germany, Spain, Italy) and win the top division in each nation.
All in all, this save is not only about the decisions you make on the pitch, but the ones that you make off it. As said at the start of the article, this sort of save is ideal if you have a very basic Laptop/Computer that struggles with a database full of leagues and nations. If you want a save that has a similar feel to the Pentagon challenge, but will be much for efficient when it comes down to game speed, this is the one for you.
