Low-budget laptops for Football Manager 2018

1) Acer Aspire 5 15.6-Inch Notebook

Acer Aspire 5 15.6-Inch Notebook

The Aspire 5 looks to fit a media-heavy lifestyle – it’s a dependable workhorse for anyone needing a low price but still good enough notebook.

This Aspire 5 model is powered by a 7th Gen Intel Core i5 processor and 8GB of RAM and comes with 1TB of storage.

It will coast through all your everyday computing jobs, and stand up to more demanding tasks like playing FM.

Its 15.6-inch HD display provides consistent colours and Acer True Harmony delivers solid audio.

For additional peripherals, there's a USB 3.1 Type-C Gen 1 port, USB 3.0 port that supports power-off charging, and another two USB 2.0 ports.

It is cheap and still good enough for running FM, but do not expect the processing speed you would get with a stronger processor, SSD or more memory £549.99

2) Lenovo Ideapad 100 15.6-Inch Laptop

Lenovo Ideapad 100 15.6-Inch Laptop

Lenovo made it to our list with this cheap but adequate Ideapad. It comes with 5th gen Intel Core processor with 2.2 GHz - 2.70 GHz Turbo.

It's thin, light, and really portable. With a starting weight of only 2.0 kg (4.4 lbs) and at just 22.6 mm (0.89") thin, the Ideapad 100 is perfect for your on-the-go lifestyle.

It has 8GB one-module DDR and 1TB of HDD space. Graphics Card is HD5500 but you can't really be expecting anything more for the price of £429.22.

You also get Windows 10 and 2-year warranty. Lenovo IdeaPad 100 left us with a bag of mixed emotions. While it is good for basic use, the notebook is clearly not for heavy tasks.

Build quality, while not out-of-the-world, is still impressive for the price.

But given the price, we definitely feel that overall performance couldn't have been better. Your game won't be too fast but you'll still be able to run it relatively smooth.

3) Dell Inspiron 15" Laptop

Dell Inspiron 15" Laptop
Dell is known for their line of budget laptops, which are popular with budget-conscious buyers who are after laptops that offer more than just word processing and Internet browsing.

While many users would shy away from the Intel i3 range, the Skylake series offers similar performance and clock speeds than some of the 4th and 5th generation Intel i5 processors.

The bonus of the new Skylake series is that it features the newer and more powerful Intel HD Graphics 520 chipset that will offer users similar performance to the GeForce 820M from NVIDIA.

This means users will be able to run newer gaming titles with acceptable frame rates on lower settings. While older and classic titles will run on higher settings. This means your FM 18 will work solidly on this model.

The processor and GPU are backed by 6GB of RAM, which is more than enough for everyday tasks and gaming.

But for users who are looking for a machine that will be able to run more hardware intensive apps, the Dell Inspiron I5559-1747SLV can be upgraded with a maximum of 16GB of RAM.

The touchscreen display offers vibrant colours and sharp details for casual gaming and multimedia, while the viewing angles are average as it is not equipped with an IPS panel. But it is equipped with a responsive touchscreen that makes surfing the web and navigating around media a breeze.

Ample storage space is offered by the 1TB mechanical hard drive, but due to its price users will have to make do with the slower 5400rpm drive speed.

Overall this Dell Inspiron is a great laptop if you look for a cheap solution. £419.00
