Hi all, and welcome to a brand new series I'm creating named Sussex By The Sea following promotion chasing Brighton & Hove Albion in a 2016/17 updated database. In choosing Brighton, I've stuck close to my roots being a Sussex boy and with Brighton being my biggest local side.
The database I will be using is from Whizzkids 25th July 2016 update and the link to the download is HERE. So please go give them some support and download if you fancy a shot at 2016/17 football early! I also have a Facebook page if anyone wants to keep up with the progress of the save and you can check that out HERE. All likes, follows, shares are hugely appreciated and not forgotten! Now all the admin is over, it's time to meet the team.
The Manager
I've gone as more of a tactical manager, as well as being quite attacking too. I want the squad to score a lot of goals this season and coaching them to be attacking will be just the start.
The Club/History
Brighton, a club with a lot of history. Have had to rise a lot within the past 15 years after once being a Premier League titan. The team have recently moved into the American Express Community Stadium, or The AMEX to Seagulls fans. The team also have one of the best training and youth centres in the country so finding some decent youth prospects won't be hard. The squad are predicted to finish in 8th place, but I'm setting a target of 5th and promotion via the Play-offs.
The Squad
The team consist of a very strong attack, pacy wingers, a very strong defence and a weak couple of goalkeepers, something I'm keen to address straight away. I'll be playing a 4-3-1-2 or a 4-2-3-1 with two attacking wingers and one striker. The captain for the season will most likely be the the legend, Steve Sidwell.
The Finances
Brighton are in a very healthy financial predicament. With a wealthy owner and no money needed to be spent on a stadium or facilities, the money can be spent on the players and wages. Brighton manage to fill the AMEX at most matches on the game, so I'll also be hoping this will boost finances more as well as a push towards an expansion.
The format
I'll aim to release chapters every 2/3 evenings with each episode consisting of a months worth of games. Depending on how big the game, I may see fit for a double month chapter. Who knows?
All I ask is that you give it a read and hopefully enjoy the future of this save! Any ideas, suggestions, hate, or advice is always welcome on my Facebook page, thank you!
