Football season 2016 is over and as always we're bringing you Football Manager 2017 wishlist thread! This is your chance to have your opinion heard by the Sports Interactive crew.
We can expect Football Manager 2017 to come out sometime in November, same as every year, but until then we can cast some of our opinions and thoughts on what we would like to see in new edition of our favourite footy game.
This is your chance to cast any kind of ideas you might have on how to improve the next version of the game. We're not as objective as you, so you'll not find any of our ideas here, this will be all You, the player.
So tell us and we'll pass on the word to the SI board. How can Sports Interactive improve FM 2017 to be even better than the FM 2016? Which new features would you like? What areas of the game needs improving?
We'll regularly update this thread by adding ideas that we think are the best, and which get the most likes in our comments section. So start commenting, let your voice be heard! Let's make Football Manager 2017 the best one ever!
Also be sure to like our Football Manager 2017 Facebook page, and stay updated with the latest news.
Leave your ideas in the comments section below and you might just see your idea make it in FM17. And do remember if you suggest an idea and it doesn't appear in the next version of Football Manager that doesn't mean it never will.
P.S.
Just to clarify a few things mind, at no point will SI ever allow Manager's to spend their wages/invest into the club so I wouldn't suggest that one.
Selected ideas from the comments
Jamie Sheehan - mirror attributes of any real life manager
On the manager setup screen it'd be great if you had the option to mirror the attributes of any real life manager in the game by choosing them from a drop down. I tried to do a Jose Mourinho save on FM16 only to find there is no combination of past experience and coaching badges that allow his attributes to be exactly replicated.
Vincent B - Temporary job at the club
Whenever things are going to smoothly for me. I do not extend my contract and just sit a season out and see what happens before I take on a new challenge. Sometimes even two seasons. However, during those unemployed seasons I would like to be approached for a temporary job. Like Guus Hiddink did at Chelsea, twice now. Just helping a club out for a short period of time, while the club looks for a manager for the next season. Or the club might even ask you to stay a bit longer, like 2 years. Just being brought in as a temporary solution would be nice. If you have build a reputation in the game and you are jobless. It would be a cool challenge to help out a club in the League One, Serie B, a club in a less known league, a club fighting to survive in any league or anything you would not do normally. It is just for a few months. No pressure and might even like the club.
TSO - English non league down to Step 9
English non league down to Step 9, North Berks Division 2, Bristol and Suburban League, Thames Valley Division 1, Teesside Football League etc. Appreciate someone has put serious effort into releasing a data file but would be nice to have by default. While I don't often manage non league it would be great to send hire/send scouts to non league games... not to mention the non league to prem challenge!
Also would be nice to have a fix for teams randomly moving between leagues due to conflicting regional boundaries (as currently happens with the 3rd party non league data file)
