Hello and welcome to part 2 of my Crystal Palace save on FM16. Apologies for the gap from Part 1 to Part 2 I've just been quite busy this week. But now Its all cleared up and I'm good to go again!
Transfers
In
Having evaluated the squad in Episode #1 I decided that the squad did not need a major overhaul. However there was some strength in depth required in some positions so I managed to fill some gaps in the squad with a couple of signings.
Andy King
I decided that I needed an extra body in Midfield for the upcoming campaign. I trawled through the scouting pool looking for the ideal player who would fit into my budget and in the end I settled for Andy King of Leicester. King was transfer listed so in the end I was able to get him for a bargain at under £3m, he still has some nice stats and he will definitely play his part this season
Jesse Lingard
Having signed Andy King it left me with a small budget to fill another hole in the squad, the CAM position. Unfortunately there were no CAM's available who were in my budget and that I felt was good enough to be a squad player for Palace. Having earlier missed out on the Signing of Oğuzhan Özyakup from Besiktas I quickly realised that I needed to get someone on loan. In short It appeared that Lingard was the best player on the loan market and I swiftly made my move for him and managed to get him.
Out
Johnny Williams
In order to raise funds for future transfers I had to sell some players. Johnny Williams was one of those that appeared to be surplus to requirements and luckily Bournemouth came in with a bid of £1.5m and took him off my wage bill.
Fixtures and Results
As you can see we have had an ok start to the season. Defeats to Arsenal and Tottenham in the first 2 games were expected. However there is some case for concern as we have not been able to keep a clean sheet yet plus we had to come from behind to beat both Newcastle and Sunderland.
Here, in the game against Tottenham he were just overrun from the start, a goal after just 4 minutes really put us up against it. We did however equalise through Wickham but conceded immediately (In the same minute!) and then lost 2 more sloppy goals before half-time. We were 4-1 down at the break and the game was already over.
Join me again next time when we see what September has in store for us!

In the Newcastle game we showed great character to come back from a goal down to win the game 2-1. The winner was scored by super sub Jesse Lingard on his debut and it was a great way to get our first win of the season!
League Table
We end August in the top half of the table, If we can stay around this position for the remainder of the season It will have been a good campaign!Join me again next time when we see what September has in store for us!
