Career history stats
Probably the best young English talent in Football Manager 2014 comes from Everton, the next Paul Gascoigne, Ross Barkley. Player that in real life really resembles by play to Gazza, or even Rooney. But he aims even higher and states that he will be the next Zinedine Zidane.
Judging by his starting attributes, Barkley can easily achieve his goal of becoming a World Class midfielder in the future. He’s got it all, from technical attributes such as Dribbling (14), First Touch (16), Passing (14), Technique (15), to mental and physical attributes needed for a quality attacking midfielder.
Once developed, well, he becomes a midfield beast. Really similar to the likes of Lampard, Gerrard or Rooney. He’s not a clinical finisher, but is one of the best English players we came across in a long while in any Football Manager. Great technical, mental and physical attributes, make this player a must buy for any respectable club in FM 2014.
His career in our save game looks quite strange, to say the least. Three seasons at Everton, then moved on to Shakhtar for £10.75M, that he eventually ended up in Real Madrid as a Bosman Player, free agent. No notable injuries through this period, and fairly good Average Rating throughout.
If you’re thinking of signing him from Everton, then a bid of £17M to £25M will be required to obtain his services at the start of the game. Or you could wait till the last year of his contract, which lasts till 2016, and get him for a much cheaper price of £10M or lower. This is a must buy player, and we advise you to definitely sign him if you have the money.
