Mattia Perin - FM 2014 Wonderkid Review

Touted as the next Walter Zenga, Mattia has some serious shoes to fill. Zenga, legendary goalkeeper of Internazional (Inter) and Italian national squad that finished 3rd at World Cup in 1990.

So, is Mattia the new Zenga, or will we all be seriously disappointed. Well looking at his starting attributes, mainly Goalkeeper ones, he does seem as a fairly solid young goalkeeper.

His Command of area, and Handling could be better, but goalkeepers do generally peak once they enter their thirties.

Once he develops, his Handling does get better, and stands at a solid 15, but his Command of area is still truly poor and has not progressed in nine years.

This could lead to some serious problems in your penalty box, especially if the opponent you’re playing against scores mostly after crosses.

Here’s one good thing about him, he wont cost you nothing if you decide to sign him for your team. But only if you wait for one season, so that his current contract with Genoa expires and he goes on Bosman Ruling.
