Serbia vs Wales – The Last Chance for the Dragons to Get Involved in Top 2 Race?

We are half way through the World Cup 2018 qualifiers and the situation in Group D is a bit surprising. The participants of EURO 2016 semi – finals, team Wales have failed to connect to that great result and perform on the same level in majority of the games so far. Chris Coleman’s team has achieved only one victory in five matches, four of which ended as draws.

The number of points and unfortunate events is just too high, and the only way Wales can get back into the race for top two positions is to beat Serbia this Sunday in Belgrade. That is definitely not going to be an easy task. The Eagles have undergone a lot of changes and it seems like the new national coach Slavoljub Muslin has found the way to increase the team spirits. Serbia are currently table leaders, having collected eleven points so far. Their back line didn’t seem confident at all so far, allowing six goals, but on the other hand, strikers have done huge work and produced 12 goals.

Tipsters at Bettingtips4you.com don’t think The Dragons have the strength to conquer Rajko Mitic Stadium. Another big blow for the team is going to be the absence of Gareth Bale who got suspended in Wales’ last game played against Republic of Ireland in March.
The first duel between Wales and Serbia in the group stages was played in November 2016 in Cardiff. Hosts were so close to claiming three points, but Aleksandar Mitrovic’s goal five minutes from end secured draw for the visitors. Previously, Gareth Bale has scored from a free – kick in the first half.

It is also worth mentioning that Serbia were the ones to deal one of the biggest defeats in Wales’ recent football history. The Eagles humiliated them back in 2012 in WC Qualifiers by winning the game 6 – 0.
