Three key wonder kid signings for Football Manager 2017

Here are three players that have shone on FIFA that could be the star of your team throughout your tenure.

FIFA 17 has been released on the gaming market and millions of football fans have flocked to purchase it once again on their various consoles. Career mode has been the hit of the franchise, with the opportunity to guide your favourite team to glory, using your prowess on the pad or nous in acquiring the best talent in the game.

There is no more of a satisfying feeling when playing FIFA than buying a young starlet and helping them to develop into a superstar. The same could be said of Football Manager, although the task at hand is usually harder given the complex nature of the game.

To help you out before the release of Football Manager 2017, here are three players that have shone on FIFA that could be the star of your team throughout your tenure.

Julian Brandt (Bayer Leverkusen)

The 20-year-old is the latest young star to emerge out of the Bundesliga due to the high standard of his performances for Bayer Leverkusen. Brandt made his breakthrough in the second half of the 2013-14 season, and has been an integral part Roger Schmidt’s team ever since.

Brandt put his talent on for all to see in his side’s pursuit of a Champions League place last season. He scored in six matches on the spin, becoming the youngest player since Gerd Muller to accomplish the feat, which helped secure Leverkusen’s third-place finish and resulting qualification for Europe’s elite competition.

Without Brandt’s performances Schmidt’s men would have missed out on Champions League football, highlighting his class at the tender of age of 20. His pace, creativity and clinical edge in the box would give him high ratings on both FIFA and Football Manager, making him an excellent player to build your side’s attacking play around.

Dele Alli (Tottenham Hotspur)

Alli’s rise was almost as dramatic as Brandt’s as Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino opted to throw him straight into the fold last season, just months removed from playing in League One. He struck up a formidable partnership with Harry Kane that saw the duo notch 35 goals between them, almost firing Spurs to the Premier League title.

The 20-year-old is once again the lynchpin in Pochettino’s team this season, where they will hope to hold their nerve in the title race, being backed at 11/1 in the latest Premier League betting odds to win the top-flight crown. Alli already has three goals this term, and could better his tally of 10 to drive his side to their first title success since 1961.

He has a strong presence in the middle of the park for a player so young, and is not afraid to put himself into challenges. Adding his physical play to his attributes in the final third makes Alli a perfect player to build a team around.

Gianluigi Donnarumma (AC Milan)

Donnarumma has been branded as the future of Italian football and the heir apparent to Gianluigi Buffon between the sticks for the Azzurri. The 17-year-old ousted Diego Lopez and Christian Abbiati from the starting spot for the Rossoneri with a string of fine performances this time last season.

He has not surrendered the jersey since, playing with a presence and ability far beyond his years. Donnarumma has all of the physical attributes needed to be a top keeper, and could even better the career of Buffon should he remain at the highest level until his late thirties.

Due to his age and ability, signing the AC Milan stopper would be a prudent move as you would not have to worry about the goalkeeping position for a very long time; as Juventus discovered to their delight when they secured Buffon’s signature in 2001.
