England vs Wales Euro 2016: Preview, Odds, Prediction

One of the most interesting match-ups of Euro's group stage games is due date tomorrow, 16 June at Stade Bollaert-Delelis, Lens, and by all means, this one is going to be for all to remember.

Ever since England and Wales, two neighbouring nations got placed at the same group at Euro 2016, tongues started wagging. Everyone expected that it would be Wales the underdogs in this match, due to their statistics and history, but it's England who will be coming into this match on the back foot, even thou list of the most popular betting sites in the uk suggest that the England are clear favourites to win this brawl between the neighbours, and have given them 3/5 odds, whilst Wales have been given the odds 6/1.

From mine experience, bookies usually get the favourite right most of the times, but for this one I'm not all that sure. Roy Hodgson men played a fairly impressive match against Russia in the first round, but after a woefully placid end culminated in the concession of a late equaliser. On the other hand, Chris Coleman's team never really looked in danger against Slovakia in their first match, and will be going into this one with luxury of knowing that even a draw will guarantee them a place in the last 16.

Even the build-up to this match has been a bit ill-tempered, with Gareth Bale claiming no England players would get in the current Wales team. To this Roy Hodgson has told Gareth Bale not to question England's passion or patriotism ahead of Thursday's crunch. Even Jack Wilshere hit back on Monday afternoon: "We know that Wales don’t like us. Do we like them? Not really!" Wilshere was quoted as saying. Nevertheless, this makes the stakes in Lens even higher than they already were, with qualification potentially at stake as well as bragging rights.

Regarding team news, it is quite possible that England will start with the same team as the Russia match, and Wilshere hinted "there is no need to change the game plan". Wales, on the other hand will probably be starting their first goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey who missed first match against Slovakia due to back problem.

Prediction. This is going to be a legendary match, no doubt about it. I expect a game with a lot of tackles, same as it were a Premier League game. If anything Premier League has thought us this season is that the underdog can definitely surprise, and I expect Wales to do the same in this match. I don't see them losing this one, win possibly, but I got mine eye on draw, which currently stands at 16/5.
