An Alternative Reality: Spurs, King in the North! | Part 2: First Steps

Part 2 is here! Starting the season and 5 weeks have already passed. Some transfers (maybe mistakes) were made, but hope it will all turn out to be good, it is going well so far. Especially, Dele Alli is the cream of the crop so far.

Transfers

On Part 1, i know i said, i won't be spending much but i was in need of someone with experience in the midfield that can shape the attacking movements and also had to have an alternative for Harry Kane. So two transfers were made. I'm not really proud of the fees i've paid for them. However, both of the transfers have Home-Grown Status. So that's a plus.

We've spent 70M Euros on two players. Both of them were needed in my opinin, but the transfer fees could be lower.

As in the outgoing players, i was happy with the current players we had in the main squad. So didn't really need sending any of them out. Although, there were few transfer offers for Erik Lamela and Kyle Walker. All refused. Especially for Kyle Walker, there is no way he is leaving. I have great plans for him.

Danny Drinkwater ( MC ) - Leicester > Tottenham ( 50 Million € )

We were in need an experienced player in the midfield who can perform well and in the first 5 weeks we've been through, he did. He was even selected to the England squad for the EURO2016 qualifications matches. I'm happy with his performance so far, but agin, 50 Million € was a bit overkill in current opinion. Should've get him for a lower price. Still, things are going well for Danny and Tottenham.

Callum Wilson (ST) - Bournemouth > Tottenham ( 20 Million € )

He was signed up as an alternative for Harry Kane, I really enjoy seeing fast Strikers in my squad. So that's kind of the main reason, i've signed him up for 20 Million €. My expectations from him, to develop his game in the coming years and perform well when given the chance. So far, i can't say i've seen the best of him. But still, there is time. It's too early into the season yet.

Pre-Season

Here we are, the first ever game, against a Danish team, OB. Even though it's just a friendly game, it's an important one, because that'll shape my first impression and ideas about the team.

We weren't really effective during the game, OB had the upper hand in the midfield. We had more chances, that's for sure. But the team were unable to score, which was a bit dissappointing. But i've seen what we did and didn't do well, so the next friendly game had to be better. and it did. It was against the strong German side, Dortmund.

We were able to be more effective on the offense, but again, we had some problems and mistakes in the midfield. At the end. We were the winning side.

With few more, rather easy, matches. We've completed the pre-season. Which was really inspiring for me and we were ready to proceed.

Premier League is Underway!

So here we were, the league was starting. My first managerial debut. Unfortunately, our first game was against Man City. Which was a real challenge for me as it was my first official competitive game ever.

Man City, started off really fast and harsh against us. We were behind for 3-0 at the end of the first half. Then two players came up and took the responsibility. First of all, Dele Alli, he literally took the situation in his hand in the midfield and performed really well. Which led Harry Kane to score two goals in the second half. We had many opportunities for the third goal, but we were just unlucky. No matter how hard they tried, we couldn't score one more goal for a well-deserved draw. We were totally lost in the first half, but there was a whole different Tottenham on the pitch in the second half.

After the Man City defeat, the team reacted well and played through four games so far and they've performed really well. Especially in the midfield, Delle Alli, and on defense/offense Kyle Walker, created wonders.

The last game, which was against Aston Villa, was a disappointment for us. It was like the first half of Man City game all over again, but in this case, it was the whole match. We were lucky enough to had an early goal. And the Aston Villa attacks finally payed of for them and they've managed to score on last 10 minutes. Which was a devastating strike for us.

At the end, those were the results in the past 5 weeks.

And here are some stats of the team. Including the current Team Report.

EURO Cup

We were placed Group C in EURO Cup. In my opinion, it could've been harder. So i'm happy with the draw. Our first match in EURO Cup is against the Turkish team, Fenerbah├že. And we want to start with a win, for sure.

( The next part will be on next weekend and will start with the EURO Cup game against Fenerbah├že. Have a nice week )
