While most of European football starts are on their well deserved brake after a long and exhausting season, players from South America are still in action fighting for the title of the best team on the continent. Copa America 2015 is underway and we'll take a closer look at what we learned from the opening two rounds in Chile.
Favourites like Argentina, Brazil and the host nation Chile are currently all sitting on top of their respective groups and are more than likely to progress to the round robin of the Copa this year. It would be a good thing to invest some money on one of these teams to reach it to the finals or even winning the tournament altogether, a guide on football betting will help you in this if you don't know where to start.
Argentina is probably the main favourite out of these three, but their further success in the tournament mainly depends on the form of the footballing genius Lionel Messi. If Messi can keep his form from the following season, then Gerardo "Tata" Martino boys will have no reason to worry about. If Messi plays - Argentina plays, same as it was with Barcelona this season. But don't be fooled, even if Messi is slightly off his best there are more than a few world class players that could push Argentina forward. Players like Sergio "Kun" Aguero from Man City or Angel Di Maria from Man United. La Albiceleste are our favourites for this tournament, no doubt about it.
Brazil would be our second choice on going all the way and maybe winning the tournament. But, there is one mayor problem, and that problem is no less than their star player and their skipper Neymar. Player that has quality to win games on his own, but also lacks respect for the opposite team, which he showed in their last game against Colombia where he was the man of the hour, but not in the positive light. Neymar started a fight with Colombian players which in return earned him a red card. Brazil without Neymar isn't the same team, we've seen that when he didn't play against Germany in the World Cup. Nevertheless, Brazil are a bunch of great players with an experienced coach Dunga, and should progress from the group easily. Once Neymar returns to the team, we can expect Brazil progress to the later stages of the knock out round.
And now our third pick, the host nation Chile. Every host nation has an advantage before all other teams just because they are playing in front of their own crowd. But that is not only advantage Chile has in this tournament. They have some of the footballing world superstars like Arturo Vidal (Juventus) and Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal), players that can make a difference in any given moment. Even thou Arturo Vidal had an of field accident that involved drink driving, he apologized to his team mates and to the whole nation and will not face further disciplinary actions. With him in team Chile can go far, and by far we mean all the way!
