Wonderkid of the week is a new addition to our blog and the honor to be reviewed first on our list is a Dinamo Zagreb Wonderkid, Mateo Kovacic. So we thought to give you a review of all the best Wonderkids in the game, the cheap ones and the expensive ones. This will include a description of player attributes, his preferred positions, favorite moves and a scout report from the best scout currently in the club we'r managing.

Okay so this weeks Wonderkid is Mateo Kovacic from Dinamo Zagreb.

Biography

Mateo was born in Linz, May 6. 1994. Young midfielder started his football career at Linz football academy, and his debut for Dinamo first squad was in November 2010. He scored on his first official game in the league, which made him the youngest player who ever scored in the history of Croatian first division.

Player Overview and Transfer Tips

With a potential ability of nearly 190, this young star is truly one of the best Wonderkids in the game. Touted as the next Zvonimir Boban, former Croatia captain and a great midfield player who also played in his earlier career in Dinamo and later on went to A.C. Milan and became one of the legends of the club.

My advice to you is to buy this great midfield earlier in the game, because you can snatch him for a bargain price of €1.6M. At the winter break of season one his price goes up to €6.5M. Although the transfer wont happen immediately, because players under 18 are not allowed to transfer abroad clubs from Croatia, you'll save yourself some valuable transfer money.

Mateo has some great attributes needed for a world class midfield. Dribbling 14, First Touch 15, Passing 13, Technique 16, Creativity 17, Decisions 14, Determination 15, Flair 15, Team Work 15. Thou he needs some work on; Finishing 9, Concentration 8, Heading 8 and Jumping 6, to be a truly World Class midfield in the future.

This player will rapidly progress if played in the first team frequently, so try to make him your first team player as much as possible.

As you can see from the picture, Mateo plays best as Attacking Midfield (Center). Other positions:  Midfielder (Center) Accomplished, Attacking Midfield (Right) and (Left) Unconvincing. If you need him for left or right side, simply set him to train the position you want.

Preferred Moves: Tries Killer Balls Often, Comes Deep To Get Ball and Plays One-Twos. These are the moves that all great midfielders have, including Iniesta, Xavi and Fabregas. Mateo is probably capable of learning new moves, but the ones he already posses are ideal for a great creative playmaker.

Personality: Fairly Determined ~ meaning he would fit in well nicely if you have professional players.
Transfer Information: Dinamo are unlikely to sell as they regard him as a good prospect for the future.
A bid of at least €1.6M may be necessary to obtain the player.
Expect his wages to be between €250K and €350K per annum.
Strengths: Fairly intelligent player.
This player's ability to spot a pass and create chances underlines the intelligence of his play.
Weaknesses: Fairly lethargic player. (meaning he lack some energy)
Not the type of player who relishes the big occasions.
