Italy National Football Team (Italian: Nazionale di calcio dell’Italia), represents Italy in association football and is controlled by the Italian Football Federation (FIGC). Italians are the most successful team in the football history just behind Brazil, as for World Cup titles, they have won this mayor tournament four times in; 1934, 1938, 1982 and the last one in 2006. They have also won one European championship (1968), one Olympic football tournament (1936) and two Central European International Cups.
Just before the start of EURO 2012, Italian squad was again accused for gambling scandal, Cristico was held from EURO for farther investigation, while Buffon was free of charge and is playing in the main squad and is squad captain. They had fairly hard group with World and European champions Spain, solid Croatia team and unpredictable Ireland squad. Although, the group was fairly hard, they managed to proceed to quarter finals as second positioned team, with 2 draws and a win over Ireland. Their style of play is totally changed and now we don't see anymore the famous catanacio style of play.

By most common people and football experts indubitably the best active goalkeeper in the world. He's transfer from Parma to Juventus was and still is the most money spent transfer on a goalkeeper in the history. Buffon won all the mayor club and national tournaments, and he'll be main forcing thrive to lead Italy in this years EURO.
Alongside with Casillas, Buffon is for many years top of the top, or in FM slang, Legendary Goalkeeper. It is not surprising, great Goalkeeping, Mental and Physical Attributes should just add to the claim he still is a World Class Goalkeeper.
